Tonight's Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition was a good one **spoilers for West Coast**.
Dana, a guy I went to college with, was the one they followed, and he finally came out of the closet. We went to a very conservative evangelical Christian college, and I knew enough about how our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters were treated there that I wasn't surprised Dana didn't come out there. Turns out he never came out until recently during the filming of this show. I am still weeping, partly from joy in hearing him sing again and see him so much healthier and happier by the end, part of it that he suffered in silence for so damn long when many of us already knew and loved him anyway just the way he is.

May God bless Dana richly for telling the truth and being the way He lovingly made him.

2. When I saw him wearing a college shirt on the show, I started cussing.
That hellhole didn't deserve free advertising. That just goes to show he's a better Christian than I that he can forgive them. I haven't gotten there yet.

3. I saw this, and I also cried tears of joy for him.
How people can get so far gone up to 500 lb. ... I just can't fathom it, but shows like this are so inspiring, not only for the obese, but just even generally, in terms of keeping healthy and in shape.

Way to go, Dana! :woohoo:

4. He truly is an inspiration, I think.
That trainer guy was spot-on--you need to figure out where the weight is coming from and deal with that or it'll just come right back on.

Yay for Dana!
