Tenn. Gov: 'Don't Say Gay' Bill a Longshot
Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam is tired of the media attention on the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, which would prohibit teachers from discussing homosexuality in public school classes in kindergarten through eighth grade.

"The ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill didn’t pass and probably is never going to pass," Haslam said in an interview with the Nashville City Paper.

1. Good. Let's Hope So!
Oh, and if you don't want media attention, don't keep trying to get crap like this passed.

2. I don't know why he thinks so. It passed by a large margin in the Senate.

Hope he's right, but wouldn't bet on it.

Edit: Changed "House" to "Senate" in light of William769's correction.

3. It passed in the Senate.
It died in the House, thanks to much national media attention.

4. Sorry. You're right, it passed in the Senate.
But it did so by a large margin--21 to 13--and I don't think it died in the House; it just didn't go through prior to adjournment, which could mean many different things (including just a simple lack of time.)
