Santorum: Gays Have "Gone Out on a Jihad" Against Me
Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum, whose antigay metaphors of comparing napkins to paper towels and napkins to cars have become legendary, told a crowd in Spartanburg, South Carolina, that the gay community has waged a jihad against him over his opposition to marriage equality.

The alleged holy war against him hasn't silenced the former senator from Pennsylvania, however, who continued to deride gay marriage in his own inimitable way.

"I said 'this is a napkin,'" he said. "'This is a napkin. A napkin is what a napkin is. It isn't a paper towel. It isn't a car.' You can call a napkin a car, but it doesn't make it a car. You can call a paper towel a chair, but it doesn't make it a chair. Marriage is what marriage is."

1. Frothy Mix's use of the word "jihad" was not accidental, IMHO.
As much as I disagree with Republicans and their policies, they're not completely clueless. They know what words and "dog whistles" they can use to talk to their base in an effort to rally their support. And they know that rabid homophobia is becoming increasingly unpalatable to all voters in general, but especially among independents and moderate Republicans whose votes they need to stay in office (and maintain their power).

These anti-gay politicians, pundits, and various leaders on the right are desperately trying to paint the GLBT community as being anti-Christian and Un-American. What other convenient scapegoat can they also paint with that same broad brush that will leave their base foaming at the mouth?

Muslims.

This conflation of homophobia and Islamophobia is deliberate, IMHO, and will only increase as Americans become more sympathetic and supportive of gay rights. I think it's part of a larger effort to delay gay rights and to keep the fires of homophobia burning.

4. At the beginning of World War II,...
...a young soldier was about to go to war. When saying goodbye to his girlfriend he said "You'll be SOOO proud of me. I'm going to shoot a German soldier every day when I get up, before I go to bed and after each meal!"

His girlfriend said "What if a German soldier shoots you?"

He said "Why would a German soldier want to shoot me?"

Maybe the soldier was Santorum's relative.

PEACE!

10. you can wipe away santorum with either a napkin or a paper towel
repukes are always projecting...all you have to do is turn whatever they say about others and that reveals the real truth about them.
Radical christianist Rick Santorum is using his presidential campaign to wage a jihad against lgbt people. It is merely a front to wage his holy war against gay people and spread his depraved anti-american and anti-family moral values. "You can call a republican an American, but it doesn't make them Americans." Republicans can wrap themselves in the flag all they want but they will always be anti-american scumbags.

16. If he can call himself a human being...

And why do the bullies always play the victim when their victims fight back? Jihad my ass.
