'TheCall': a day-long religious frenzy for Yes on 8 (+)

Yesterday "TheCall," a 12-hour rally to boost support for Yes on 8, was held in San Diego's Qualcomm stadium. The festival of fundies believe they will save marriage, the homosexuals and the state of California by communing during the movement's 40 days of prayer and fasting.

James Dobson and Tony Perkins were there to stir up the crowd. As usual, those running the event tried to inflate the numbers attending the gathering. A spokesman declared 30,000 were there, but journalist Rex Wockner said that it appeared to be around 15,000. TheCall elicited this reaction from him (the photos in this post are his).

8. Saturday the demonstrators for yes were using bullhorns

They've become obnoxious with their zeal, plastering yes on 8 signs in every place imaginable. This is in the burbs of Sacramento.

10. Man, I Don't Know Whether To...

laugh or cry. These people are so ignorant and in such spiritual darkness. I mean I would get suicidal having to listen to the hate and simple bullshit these people take as gospel truth. The problem is that they are every bit as dangerous as fundies of any other religion. I would like to think this will evaporate harmlessly, but as wound up as the fundies are, don't be surprised if there is an increase in gay=bashing, etc.
