Something is Rotten at PBS

This blows my whole view of the show "Frontline".

Is nothing sacred anymore?

Something is Rotten at PBS
By RUSSELL MOKHIBER

~snip~

But even though Reid did the reporting for the film, he was cut out of the film when it aired this week.

And the film didn't present Reid's bottom line for health care reform – don't let health insurance companies profit from selling basic health insurance.

They can sell for-profit insurance for extras – breast enlargements, botox, hair transplants.

But not for the basic health needs of the American people.

Instead, the film that aired Monday pushed the view that Americans be required to purchase health insurance from for-profit companies.

2. Bush** Put a Bunch of His Toadies In Charge of PBS
I don't think Obama has gotten around to sacking them all yet. It is still the best TV we've got though.

3. Yeah I watched the program and didn't get that at all.
They specifically showed how mandating health insurance didn't work because you can't force someone to pay thousands of dollars for something they clearly can't afford. They also debunked Massachusetts' claims about what plans would actually cost under a health insurance mandate. I think what happened here was that Reid wanted to push HIS opinion (which I agree with) but Frontline wanted to maintain journalistic integrity, as they are known to do, and therefore cut it. So Reid got pissed and insisted they were corporate whores. So before your view is blown, watch or rewatch the program and see for yourself if you think there is a bias. I didn't see it. And I was really looking.

5. Who sells or has insurance for botox, breast enlargements, etc.
These are usually out of pocket, cash procedures. I have never heard of an insurance policy for breast enlargments (or any of the other items).
