December 17th: the Internationa Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers

I hadn't heard of this before, until someone posted about it in a group on facebook... I'm trying to help out with the event in my city.

What do you think of this? Has anyone heard about it before?

but the only way to end the violence is to legalize sex work and to regulate it. That would stop a lot of the violence--check out the Netherlands and compare violence levels with sex workers there.

3. The netherlands has huge problems as a result of legalization

It's become a major hub of human trafficking. A 2002 estimate was that 1 out of 4 prostitutes in the Netherlands was a victim of human trafficking - meaning 25% of them are being raped, every day.

That's not an end to violence. It IS violence.
