hiya foodies!
just wanted to say hello, and a belated thanks for the ganache discussion a while back. i read all the posts, and the links, and learned a lot about my annual nemesis. so hard to really master something when you only do it once a year. i have a great little cookie that is a cocoa thing that you roll in nuts (although i substituted banana chips, and they work better. more delicate.) then you put a little blob of ganache on top. i learned to make it over a double boiler, etc, and it breaks as often as not. the no cooking way works better, too, because you are not piping such hot stuff.
anyway, i lurk here when i am thinking about cooking, tho i rarely post. y'all always make me hungry! so, just wanted to say hi.

5. Nothin' tonight,
thank goodness. I spend every single Sunday, all day long in my kitchen. Monday nights after work I need a break! What's cookin' at your house?

6. i love my hubby, and he is a great cook when he wants to be.
but, we get whole yearling pigs, and there is always WAY more ham than we like to eat. so, it was ham with pineapple. it was totally mush. never had that happen before.
i have been trying to convince him to donate some ham to the local pantry. there just is no such thing as a heart healthy meal with ham. ugh.

7. Yeah, I know but
do you think your DH would adopt me for a little while? Ham is hands down my favorite food. I don't eat it often anymore and my DH won't eat it at all. My favorite breakfast is something my dad has always called Ham'n. Grilled ham steak with over easy eggs and crisp hash browns. :9

But donating some of that would be great, if they'll take it. Good idea.
