Cooked tonight for the first time in months

Aside from minor little stuff, like to get my son dinner, I really haven't cooked for months, since I've been sick, but I felt up to it tonight, made my Thai Chicken Curry in coconut sauce w/basil, and I have to admit it was nice to be doing it again. I was finding it hard to get the energy, but as time passes I'm getting more energy, so it was nice to get back in.

No response necessary - just yammering. Happy.

2. Sounds yummy! And I can relate to the not feeling up to cooking...
I've been seriously ill from one thing or another since 2001. I know how great a day it is when you feel up to cooking! I wish you many, many more.

3. You brought back a lovely food memory
A little store-front restaurant in west Santa Rosa, Calif. called 'Angkor Wat', 15 years ago.

Oh....! Simple chicken legs in a curry coconut sauce with lots of whole basil. Sheer delight.

4. May the successful curry spur on more time in the kitchen for you.
Cooking is therapeutic for some of us you know. :pals:

6. That's a great big step
Wonderful. Just great.

Getting your strength back - and being able to use that strength - is a joyous thing.

Keep yammering. I'm celebrating with you.

7. I'm happy for you
Our kitchens are sort of a base of operations for us foodies. Nice to see you back in that "home office".

9. It's odd...
When I've gone though times of not cooking for any reason, I've felt very disconnected to reality... not pathologically, but separated - you know? Putting together meals seems to be so soothing, so grounding, so much a part of Life (with a capital T).

I'm glad for you, and I understand your feeling...

10. Glad you are feeling better!
Not being a coconut fan myself, I can't imagine combining it with chicken :silly:

But I'm happy it got you back cooking again and it tingled your tastebuds, :-)
