Hey guys! Just checking in...
Not up to posting much. Not even thinking about food lately. I am on antibiotics and I only eat when I have to take a pill. The meds are for the infection from that bad tooth. Hope to be back to normal in a couple of days.

Doing pretty well, just feel icky from the meds. No news from my doctor visit yet, but I'm not expecting any real trouble.

I haven't even baked for days! How weird is that? I did stir up a batch of Ain5 last night though. Maybe thats a sign that things are getting back to normal? :)

Hope all is well with everyone. Miss you guys!
Lucinda

2. But now we don't know who had what for dinner!
:D

Can you believe I rescued my starter during the recent power outage? It's the old one the neighbor gave me and there was no way I was losing that stuff - again! The things we do for our starters, lol.

I really hope you are back to yer ole' self soon! You are missed.

7. I just gotta tell ya 'bout my weekend fun.
Edited on Sun Apr-26-09 11:47 AM by troubleinwinter
I live in a historical town in Arizona, and this weekend is a 4-day convention of about 500 Western American history ('The Old West') enthusiasts from all over.

I was tending the book sale table for our local branch of a history org (we sold out!), and got to talking to a woman tending a table for a 'California and Oregon trails' history org. I told her about 'Carl Griffith's 1847 Oregon Trail Sourdough Starter' http://home.att.net/~carlsfriends/.. She was absolutely fascinated! She says she is going to write up an article for their periodical newsletter/journal. (having been an editor for a couple of newsletter/periodical journals, I know one is always looking for interesting subjects)

I guess you could say that I was out there 'proselytizing' on old sourdough starter... gettin' the word out!

I don't reckon ol' Carl's predecessors had power. :P

3. Lucinda, it's good to see you posting. I'm so sorry
you've not been feeling well. I have to call my dentist on Monday, bad tooth, maybe infected. Trying to decide what to do re options I might have. Root canal or extraction, maybe a filling at best?

Anyway, please continue to get better and start posting again when you feel up to it.

lots of :hug:s for you.

take good care.

4. Hey there!
Good to hear you're on the mend. We've had a bout of sickness in our house that kept me from using up my last batch of bread dough. Luckliy it's only flour and water!

Take care of yourself and get the rest you need!

:hi:

10. Hey Lucinda!
Hope you're feeling better! :hi:

Got a pizza dough rising, with milk and olive oil in it - going to try a white pizza tonight with some sweet onions, maybe fennel too... How's your Ain5 looking?
