Anyone have experience with Zinio Reader?
PC Magazine has ditched their printed version and subscribers will get their remaining issues in digital format. They can be viewed online with a browser or they can be viewed offline with the Zinio Reader.

So ... has anyone used the Zinio Reader? Any comments, good or bad?

Thanks. :hi:

1. Yes.
.......It sucked. Seriously. At work I subscribed to an online magazine and they used the Zinio Reader. It was such a hog and so slow. I quit and refused to renew the subscription it was so bad.

2. Thanks for the info.
:hi:

I have the option of reading the magazine online instead of using the reader, so I'll probably just do that.

3. UPDATE: I tried the latest version of Zinio Reader
I tried to read the magazine on the internet, without installing the reader ... and it was slooooow. To make matters worse, every time I "flipped" the page, the zoom level would go back to the default setting, so I had to zoom in over and over again. VERY annoying!

I got desperate and tried the "new and improved" Zinio Reader ... and was pleasantly surprised! It's not perfect, but it's a big improvement over reading the magazine in my web browser. Apparently, Zinio has been listening to customer feedback and they've done a lot to improve their reader.

Like I said, it's not perfect and it's certainly not my favorite way to read PC Magazine - I still prefer the print version - but I can live with it. The articles have links to related articles on the PC Magazine web site, which is very convenient. I also like the fact that I can add highlights and annotations. :-)
