I just got myself a Blackberry 8220 Pearl Flip, and I've been having fun with it. I wish it a faster CPU, GPS and a web browser that does Flash, but aside from that, it works pretty well.

So far, as far as apps go, I recommend the following:

Opera: Much faster web browsing than Blackberry's browser.

Google Maps: Damned cool! Even though I don't have GPS, it fetches the ID of the cell towers the phone's talking too, looks up their ICBM coordinates in a Google database, and gives you a rough idea of your location (though it's really inaccurate.) But the mapping is awesome, it gives you directions, lets you Google-search for nearby eateries and such, and so on.

Facebook: Quick access to your Facebook status updates and such.

Pandora: Internet radio, CUSTOMIZED. Feed it songs you like, rate the songs it gives you, and it learns the music you like and are in the mood for at the moment. You'll have ads inflicted on you, but that's a small price to pay. Make sure you have it on your computer as well - http://www.pandora.com/ - it runs as a Flash app inside your web browser, and the web version has more functionality.

Viigo: It's a decent RSS reader, great for reading stories off of blogs & such without all the overhead of a web browser.

Vlingo: Adds some additional speech recognition functionality to your Crackberry. Now you can just say "google chinese takeout" and it'll show you a Google search results page with a bunch of Chinese restaurants in your area. Also includes the usual functionality of letting you say "Call Bob" to call Bob and so on.

That's what I have so far.

I could use a few more games. I have a Sudoku game, a Klondike solitare game and Brickbreaker on my phone, but I could use a few more.
