Always a problem ......its for me, not for them*
Think he's cute!
He's not let me tell you.
It is a fact that I share everything with them* and all I ask is to have just one old chair out of 6 for myself.

Now P L E A S E can I have my chair!
<>

Nope! .....I should know better then to ask any them* nice around here.
This big lug weighs over twenty pounds and still doesn't know about this sharing deal we are supposed to have with chairs.
His name is Squeaker and he's dangerous too when he's doesn't want to be moved.
<>

The old cat here will perhaps be agreeable to giving up a chair for me.
Awwww Old Sweetie ......no?
<>

Every old chair here has one of them* in it.
I was thinking that I should get that beautiful new leather chair that I saw in CostCo.
If I do get it I will be justified I think to not share it with any of them*.
<>
Just dreaming.

1. Sometimes they occupy chairs you don't know about.
I don't use my dining room much, and the chairs are kept tucked under the table. So I'm doing some badly needed cleaning and vacuuming in the dining room today, and I pull out one of the chairs, et voila:

I discovered somebody's nap site.

4. I know the syndrome well:

They always know just which chair you'll be heading for-and that's the one they take!

Great photos; what kind of camera are you using, and do you shoot with any additional light source outside of natural light?

Every time I look at your pics of Oberon, I have to walk around chanting this to myself. I just moved into a teeny weeny house and have two big dogs. No room for a kitty litter box, no room for a cat. Someday. Not now. Someday. Not now. Someday. Not now.

I am not allowed to adopt a Maine Coon.

;-)

Really...

Just look at this sweet happy face:

Or just hang out, looking like part of the decor:

13. Using Sony DSC-F717
The Sony Cybershot F717 has been long time discontinued but I like more than the newer higher mega pixel models. I have the new R1 now but don't like it much yet.

Use only available light from one large 8'x10' south window.

Btw, your pic of your two in the chair, is the smaller cat the same breed?
Smaller cat a sibling?
Several years ago my upstairs neighbors mom stayed a week with her purebred Maine Coon cat.
He weighed 27 pounds and wasn't over weight at all, he was just extraordinarily huge. Grandma got him by way of a "free to good home" add in the local newspaper. He was absolutely spectacular in every way but timid. Grandma complained that he was too heavy to sit in her lap and she would lock him out of her bedroom because she couldn't suffer him laying across her legs as she slept.

14. I've noticed that Sonys handle available light far better than Nikons
My Nikon Coolpix is totally uncool in low light. :-( The R1 has gotten great ratings-maybe it's just a matter of getting use to it?

The smaller cat is a Turkish Angora, but some think that the Maine Coon started out as a cross between Turkish Angoras and bobcats.

27 pounds is a big boy! Even my Oberon isn't that big (yet-he still has two years of growing to do). It can hurt when one leaps into your lap!
