Cat Gets Stuck!
Edited on Wed Mar-22-06 10:35 PM by ocelot
When I came home this evening (late, after an office social event), I was immediately greeted by Milo, as usual. But Jeoffry wasn't at the door with him, as he normally is. Instead, I heard distant, muffled howling: "YOWWW! YOWWW! YOWWW!"

After a brief search, I found Jeoffry: Somehow, in a fashion I can't quite figure out, he had got himself stuck behind a six-foot-high bookshelf. The howling continued as I wrestled the very heavy shelf a few inches away from the wall so he could get out. He instantly stopped wailing and ran straight to the litter box (I think he'd been stuck for some hours), then headed to the kitchen for a bit of dinner. Now he is carefully washing himself, acting like he meant to do that, and WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU LOOKING AT?

Freakin' cats...

1. Oh, no! Cat dignity is soooo important --
And it is so hard not to laugh.

Good thing you got home when you did -- any later and you might've had a big puddle on the floor behind your bookcase. ;-)

2. They are so comical when trying to maintain their dignity in the most
embarassing situations.
One of my cats performed the same act when she tried to jump from the couch to an arm chair and missed. She looked me and it was obvious she was saying that she intended to land on the floor. She NEVER meant to land on that stupid old chair!!! If cats could only say "harumph"

3. i remember my cat Howard
was quite fat and this was back in the days when you had those round uhf antennas on your tvs. Howard tried to go through one and momentarily got stuck. My Mom and I were laughing so hard and Howard just gave us a mean little stare!

7. LOL--that's too funny!
Cats are so silly sometimes. When I first moved into my apartment, Manilla was facinated with my miniblinds and constantly was trying to push his way through the middle (instead of pushing them up which would make more sense). Once he ended up stuck in the middle, his head and front legs facing the window (with his paws on the window sill) and his back legs and tail facing the living room. Then, he lost his balance and ended up dangling on his stomach and howling with frustration. After I pulled him out, he gave me the dirtiest look which clearly said "I had that covered, thank you!"
