I recently purchased Dish for my parents. Since then their cat has been acting extra strange. She is 12 and already has some "issues" but now she won't go in the room with the main dvr receiver. She spends most of her time sitting in the bathroom licking and pulling hair off her flank.
My mom was wondering if it was the signals that the two receivers use to communicate.
Has anyone else had any problems with anything like this or could it just be coincidence?
Do they have the sound up? How does the noise level now compare to what it was before you got them the Dish setup? Cats have much better hearing than we do...more acute and into higher and lower ranges. The noise may be upsetting her.
My cats got really agitated when ex-partner and son brought their electronics...TV and X-box...last time they came to visit.
One of my cats cannot stand white noise- makes him frantic. I can't use the dehydrator while he's in the house.
4. If it's the DVR set, she might be hearing the hard drive whirring?
I can't think of what else it could be.
One of my cats does the hair pulling thing, though with her it appears to be allergy-related. A bitter tasting topical treatment (they should have it at the pet supply store- in wipes or a deodorant-like stick) should help with the symptom, if not the underlying problem.
