They've invented a better cat box!
OMG this is the best, a little pricey, but worth it for those of us who are tired of stooping over the litter box. We got ours Monday and now scooping poop is a fun (believe or not) three minute job.

4. Any reviews on this yet?
I'm going nuts with two litter boxes for our three cats. The scoopable stuff is like concrete by the time I get home every day!

I don't want to buy one of those systems like Littermaid or Tidy Cat Breeze because I don't want to be wrangled in to an endless life of buying additional supplies.

At this point I think I'm going to mix the scoopable and the clay litter.

5. Some other options...
I'm just not convinced there is a panacea in the litterbox department. I've pretty much trained my cats to go outside, but they still need their indoor box for those 'other' times.

Anyway, here's a website that actually explores this litterbox situation:

And when all else fails....get a robot..lol.

7. I channel the google gods and goddesses...lol !
Thank goodness people feel strongly enough about a subject like the trials and tribulations of
litter boxes to create an informational web page!

9. That's one of my favorite links.
Using her method, along with a good litter, we haven't dumped a single litter box in over 3 years. We just scoop, clean the sides, and add to it.

A robot would be hard pressed to keep up with our 9!

11. What I've found that works (finally)
is mixing Tidy Cat regular clay litter for multiple cats with some of the Fresh Step. This time, though, I found some Tidy Cat with a crystal type litter pre-mixed in. It seems to be working well, too.

What I do have to get rid of are the black rubber welcome mats that seem to work so well to keep the litter from being tracked around. My older, very large cat isn't getting far enough into the litter box and ends up peeing over the side onto the floor. The only thing I can attribute this to is maybe she is having vision issues due to her age and they are confusing her, making her think she is all the way in.

8. This is my favorite one:

Our cats like to pee on the sides, so we need a deep one. This definitely fits the bill. We use Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat Litter in it. They'll even pay for your first bag.

It's nice when you finally find something that works for you.

13. I use these, too.
These are the BEST that I've found for my multi-cat household.

My pet peeve is all of the litter pieces that get strewn around the floor when the cats scratch and/or exit from regular height litter boxes.

These top entry boxes solved that problem for me.

15. That would be fine for the two babies
we got this past summer, but my older cat wouldn't be able to use that at all. I would also worry that as a cat aged it would become more and more difficult for them and they would take to going somewhere else.

10. This is a great one too

But I wouldn't recommend it if you have more than one cat or have a bad back.

12. it takes the best features of the electric models
My niece has an electric one and it's forever getting jammed, if you use too much litter it won't stop running. Also the plastic box that the waste goes into is flimsy and cracks easily.
This looks like a great idea, I might have to try one.

Thanks

14. Saw something called 'Cat Genie'
on late-night TV and what appealed to me was the 'green' factor...no litter going into landfills.

Problem that I could see was that it looks so small.

My guys like to turn around a couple times to choose a spot...and the two youngest boys like to dig to China for their doots...neither of which looks possible with this thing.

Anybody else seen/have it? What do you think...any good?
