3. Raccoons have been known to raid mine
They swing the feeder over to the deck and just help themselves. I've caught 'em red handed.

5. Squirrels are tenacious as hell. They'll always find a way.
My mother invested in a supposedly "squirrel-proof" birdfeeder, only to watch grimly from her window as the critter experimented for about twenty minutes straight, and finally somehow swung himself into the feeder, right through the slippery metal brackets that were supposed to stop him.

7. The stores called Wild Bird (feed and supplies)
has an ENTIRE section in the back of each store I've been in dedicated to none other than foiling squirrels. They have DVDs, VHS tapes of the critters in action and a slew of products to outsmart these pesky rodents. But then, they would deprive our cats of hours of chattering, crouched low by the windowsill. What is more inhumane?
