The Senate votes on the health care bill on the winter solstice
Is there some astrological significance to having the vote on the Health Care bill take place at 1:00 AM?

1. I know nothing about the astrological significance. It seems to me though
that symbolically choosing the day when we enter a cosmic event to make catastrophic change is significant. I personally think this bill will be a disaster. I'm not hoping it will fail and I'm hoping that I'm wrong but I think it won't take care of the core problem. Doing it at this time will have bigger consequences than at other quieter times in solar events. I think if they waited until after our calendar New Years, saner heads would prevail and we might get legislation that helps pull us out of this black hole of social problems we are sinking into.

2. I'm rather hoping that there is a short delay in voting so that
it's not done on that day.

And I do mean short, like just after the first of the year or something.

There is a lot of crazy energy swirling around this bill, and it would be nice if things could calm down somewhat before the vote is actually taken.

3. The solstice is not for another 12 hours
But there is a very sweet Moon/Jupiter/Neptune conjunction through the very early morning hours sextile Venus. Lots of big expectation about this vote and what it means (Jupiter/Neptune).

4. Actual Solstice is 12:47 PM EST
Apparently, the 1:00 time accomodates the rule that a vote can begin one hour after the Senate convenes for a session. This unique weekend, the the Senate convenes at midnight, ta-da. Hence the time planned for a procedural vote.

That's the Senate's rules. Under rules of electional astrology (selection of time to do something), normally one wouldn't choose the last few degrees/seconds of a waning influence. You'd want to jump in with the strong Solstice. But the configurations in the sky are SO STRONG, both negative and positive, and will stay that way for months, that it really makes little difference. In my past astrological work, I interpreted the last degree of any sign as a 'transitional moment' an intermedidate step. Not the bold step formward we might later make.

That's probably the best way to look at this weekend's craziness...lots of work and conflict lies ahead. And the old order has no intention of exiting gracefully and letting progress proceed.
