As I go insane waiting for Wishadoo to move forward (prayers to get the programmer relationship resolved are most welcome!), I'm actively working on book promotion for "Housekeeping for the Soul," which is to be released in April. I've shared about "The Book of Obeah" before, I believe; that is coming out in June. I've discovered over these last few years that I'm quite the Jane of All Trades, as I am officially the consulting editor and often the co-writer, website person, and marketing/PR person (including creating all the promotional materials, such as the videos). I may not do any one thing brilliantly, but I am competent at many things. ;)
Anyway, I'm especially pleased with this short trailer to introduce "Housekeeping," and wanted to share.
I'm also actively pursuing integrated marketing approaches, such as finding a corporate sponsor to partner with the book and having proceeds benefit a non-profit. This is part of that Piece Process approach I spoke of before. This puts it into action!
Do any of you remember that movie with Sigourney Weaver, Melanie Griffith and Harrison Ford - "Working Girl" - from the 80's? I've always identified with the Melanie Griffith character...lol. The girl behind the scenes who is connecting the dots no one else has thought of as yet. Like her, I'm hoping lightning is finally going to strike and others will finally SEE the potential I see with these mutually beneficial, integrated approaches to business.
I'm envisioning Seventh Generation (eco-friendly cleaning products...been around forever) being the official sponsor of "Housekeeping." They have wide distribution now and perhaps their connections can get the book into retail chains such as Target and Walgreens. There could be combined promotional offers between their products and the book and with any gift merchandise that may accompany the book.
Finally, and to me most importantly, proceeds from the book will benefit an organization such as Habitat for Humanity. They have chapters in nearly every county in the States, so ideally -- in keeping with the grassroots community focus of the Piece Process -- books sold within a certain area will indeed benefit the local Habitat for Humanity, or local women's shelter, or a good cause in keeping with the theme of "Housekeeping."
Good vibes for everything are MOST appreciated, my ASAH family!!!! :grouphug:
Hope you enjoy. :)
