1. Thanks for posting

I had an interesting conversation with a young clerk today, he was so caught up in cynicism
it was sad, I told him to go to the internet to find his voice. It is hard to believe how
negative we have become. Why can't we be like other societies where everybody feels that
they have a place and that they have to live in harmony with the planet and other living
creatures. I like Al Gore because he does have character and it is not something he trots
out for the cameras. I was glad to read positive things regarding him because I too would
like him to run and win his presidency w/o those who cheated him out of it.

2. It is because of the black blithe this * administration has cast
upon this world. The spread of this contamination has been like a toxic vapor.....seeping into every social nook and cranny. We ALL must treat this disease with hope, courage, determination and unity.

We ALL are responsible with giving what we don't have to change the course. Folks need educated to the height of realistic fear to be mobilized into recognizing only each and everyone of us must make a stance.

3. I agree
how did we ever get to a winners/losers mindset, w/o losers there would be no winners, we are
all in the boat of life, labeling others doesn't make it any different. The one thing I remember the most about Andy Stephenson was his kindness and his respect for everybody.

6. I have been thinking about Andy a lot lately....
Maybe because last May-June was our last time together with a lot of our mutual activist friends. He is always in my thoughts.

7. Yes, it has been strange
to be cycling through this time again. I think all the time about how those who
love life so much often go on to be mourned by many while the mean ones live on and on to abuse
us. I only hope that he is at peace and that remembering him and his struggle will make us
all appreciate what a gift just living every day is.

19. I did have a funny dream about him
I dreamed that I was crossing my livingroom and he dropped down out of the ceiling onto my sofa.
I said in my dream, I heard of dropping in on somebody but this is ridiculous, he laughed and
looked totally relaxed and said how are things on DU. I could hear myself laughing and talking
to him but it was like I was listening in from the next room.

5. The thing that struck the most dread in my heart when I heard
who was running for Republican President was exactly this - the powerful change in attitudes - everywhere - that would take place with these toxic people in power.

8. I always thought this was crazy
how many people are president and then eight years later here's his son as a candidate. It's too weird, and then his brother is governor of a swing state, it was too heavily weighted for Bush.

23. I didn't think of that
the powerful change in attitudes - everywhere - that would take place with these toxic people in power.

It is very prescient.

They have made it acceptable to be a greedy, boorish, and anti-intellectual.

I didn't think of it then but I was thinking about it this afternoon: how it was such a taboo to declare war "because we can."

18. I heard that Al Gore has moved to California....
That would make his home state "blue" California. I also recall hearing about or reading a prediction that our next President will hail from the west.....This would fit the plan. :hi:

4. Natal Venus in Taurus..that explains the Kiss!
He's the best prepared person to lead the United States who has ever run. He won! Does anyone recall what his stars said after the 2000 election? I WILL WORK FOR THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE, NO MATTER WHO IS SELECTED AT THE CONVENTION, but I'd be so happy to work for Al Gore.

10. Thanks for posting this, Minnesota Libra! I am putting all of my
thoughts and prayers into a Gore candidacy & presidency. It is fitting that he claim his rightful place. It is his destiny. I have great hope and admiration for both he and Kerry. They were clearly robbed by a renegade faction who clearly will go down in history for the treasonous criminals they are. I hope that justice prevails and that they all get their just rewards in this lifetime. I too am willing to work my butt off for Gore, I hope he decides we are worth it. He is truly the captain we are waiting for.

13. I am absolutely certain without a doubt he is running.
The first time I saw him in a few years was last fall sometime on Jay Leno; when he was promoting Current TV. All he had to do was walk out and sit down. I knew right then and there; so much that I said it aloud to an empty house: "He's running."
It is always possible I will be proven wrong; but the more I watch and read; the more I am convinced. The man is a damn genius. Forestalling rigged midterms and same thing for the Pres. run; I think it is a done deal--he is just runnng the best anti-campaign I've ever seen.

.....day and night to make sure :patriot: President Al Gore :patriot: made it to the White House. I'd love to see a Al Gore/Russ Feingold ticket or possibly Gore/Kerry but I'd prefer the former.

16. I see. We couldn't appreciate Gore's TRUE leadership,
until we very clearly learned what leadership ISN'T. This cooberates nicely with the previous article I put on on Gore's chart. I firmly believe this man is meant to be America's leader, and should he run, I will do whatever I can to help him win.
America NEEDS Al Gore in order to return to it's correct path, IMO.
Thrilling article!

17. Thanks. This is so encouraging..
I also believe Gore is so pure in his intentions -remember when he stepped in to rescue people from the hospital in New Orleans?
He had no cameras, he did not hold press conferences with large special effects and signs, he just did it.

I would be delighted and honored to re-elect president Gore.

:)

20. In my lone philosophy course as a college undergrad
Edited on Mon Jun-05-06 05:56 PM by Hope2006
The absolutely only thing I remember is a treatise about those who seek power (don't even remember the philosopher). Jist was that we need to be suspicious of anyone who seeks power, and, the best leader is one who really doesn't want the responsibility and power, but who has the qualities required for great leadership.

I think it is interesting that this is all I remember.

In thinking about Gore, this memory came back to me.

I definitely think he is almost an absolute "must" as either our next president, or as president in 2012.

He certainly does not seem to need to be president as an ego boost, and, he loves what he is doing now.

I think we need to urge him to run in any and all ways.

Ironically, I didn't particularly like him in 2000 (though he was definitely better than Bush), but now, not only do I think he has come into his own, I also think that he will do far more for our country than he would have done had he taken his rightful place in 2000.

21. Well said
I voted for Al Gore but was not thrilled about it. I didn't like the way he distanced himself from Clinton and his selection of Lieberman. I also did not like his tone of voice at various times in the debates. Now, he's more his own person and I like him a lot more. Or am I just reacting to *?

Edited on Mon Jun-05-06 06:58 PM by Hope2006
Gore did tend to be kind of "whiney" as I remember it in his 2000 campaign. Maybe he really didn't want the presidency even then?

And, you are right, whoever advised him to distance himself from Clinton, despite Clinton's popularity, was beyond an incompetent person.

Lieberman, don't even get me started!

Editing to add that I think Gore was not ready in 2000 to assume the presidency. I think this is why he allowed others to make his decisions for him.
