A Well-Rounded Person

I read an interesting story about the coach of the football team that just
won the Super Bowl. Because of his team's success he is now being compared
to the greatest coaches in football history. But it wasn't always that way.
Just a few years ago he was known as a highly competent tactician but with
a mediocre won-loss record. Because he recognized that what he was doing
wasn't enough, and because he was smart enough to not let his ego get in
the way, he changed his philosophy.

He kept his good coaching techniques but he added a dimension of humanity.
Simply put, he started to show more concern about his players and assistant
coaches as people. He would inquire about their personal and family lives.
He became a well-rounded person. When he did his job performance went
from undistinguished to legendary.


No man is an island. No goal exists in a vacuum. No matter what you are
striving to achieve, outstanding success can only come when your goals
are integrated into a well-rounded life.

A Week of Heart, Soul, Passion, and Success

I've recently been watching the television show "Extreme Makeover: Home
Edition." I've really been touched by what can be done in one week. And
yes, they do seem to have an unlimited budget, a huge number of workers
and an abundance of expertise, but. The workers work hard, the designers
find inspiration from the family they are there to help and the community
comes out to provide important support, both physical and emotional
support. But none of this by itself would provide enough to make the
project succeed.

The success comes from a deep desire to provide help and the ability
to rally support from many sources and to mold them into a cohesive
team. Still unseen obstacles do occur and must be overcome. Ultimately
it is the commitment to succeed, no matter what, again I say, no matter
what, that takes a deserving family and not only remodels their home but
changes their lives.

So the question arises, what could you do next week to change your life?
What would you do if you knew your success was guaranteed? Imagine if you
took one aspect of your life and devoted everything you had to changing it.
And not just by yourself. Because your life is too important and because
success is the only acceptable outcome you'll need to rally support in a
highly emotionally charged manner and form a cohesive team.

What if you developed the passion, the plan, and unstoppable desire? If
you had to succeed in one week, no matter what, and I repeat, no matter
what, would you? Would you be willing to stay up late, get up early, and
totally devote yourself to success? Would you refuse to quit? Miracles can
happen. Miracles do happen. Often they are the result of intense effort,
and an unstoppable combination of heart, soul, and passion. Make this week
the week to make your dream come true!

6. Thank you for the great information!
I'm reading through the art of prosperity now. The problem I have with affirmations is making them believable and realistic to me. I can't say that I am financially wealthy. It's just not believable to me. I don't play pretend well. It has to be real to me.

7. A suggestion
Instead of affirming "I am wealthy" try an affirmation such as "I create wealth and prosperity in my life" or "I create abundance in my life" that sort of thing.

The Journal

The Wall Street Journal is one of the most important newspapers in the
world. But it is not as important to me as my own journal. I recently
came across a journal I wrote seven years ago. At first I found a number
of goals I had that I not accomplished and I started to feel bad. Then I
found several other goals that seemed only remotely possible at the time.
I had no experience in the area I wanted to go and my only asset was
desire. Despite that my desire prevailed and I accomplished many of them.
Who I am today was written as a desire back then. Seeing that so many of
my goals came true gave me quite an insight into my current goals and
showed me that my dreams have, and can continue to come true.

If you have a journal or have previously written down goals go back and
read them every so often. You may be surprised at how far you've come.
And make sure that you commit your thoughts, dreams, and goals to paper.
It will help give you focus and give you the chance to, at a future date,
see exactly how powerful and insightful you are today.

Practice Hard - Win Easy

When I was in the gym today I saw a cross country runner with the slogan
"Practice Hard - Win Easy" on her t-shirt. What a great idea I thought.
When we take the time to condition ourselves to follow through on our
goals and to make them a habit, then we don't have to worry about what
we'll do at crunch time. That's because doing the right thing will have
become automatic. So condition yourself for success, your version of
success, make it a habit and you'll find that your habit makes achieving
your success easy.
