I was doing a little research for a blog I was going to write and came across an article online that said puppeteer Jim Henson was into The Seth Material in his younger days. He apparently read the Seth books and visited Jane Roberts on at least one occasion. He was raised Christian Scientist, but developed an interest in new age thought when he got older, according to his wife and one of the puppeteers who worked for him, Fran Brill. The article has a really neat quote from Henson from about 20 years ago: "I believe that life is basically a process of growth—that we go through many lives, choosing those situations and problems that we will learn through. I believe that we form our own lives, that we create our own reality, and that everything works out for the best. I know that I drive some people crazy with what seems to be ridiculous optimism, but it has always worked for me. I believe in taking a positive attitude toward the world, toward people, and toward my work. I think I'm here for a purpose. I think it's likely that we all are, but I'm only sure about myself."
It shouldn't be a surprise to me that someone who was so creative was also a seeker of alternative spirituality, but I enjoyed it all the same.
