Pope's Chart....
I don't yet know how to post horoscope images here, but I did calculate the Ratzinger's chart for 4/16/1927, 4:15:33, Marktl, Germany.

The time of the decision of his papacy was 6:43pm, 4/19/2005, in Rome.

I wrote this to some other astrologers:

This pope comes into full power at a very transformational and perhaps dogmatic time, with Pluto going over his Sagittarius midheaven during its next direct cycle starting in August. Of concern also is his Saturn in the ninth house in fundamentalist Sagittarius, progressing back to quincunx his fateful and potentially polarizing Mars on the nadir at 29+Gemini, conjunct the North lunar node.

It might give some hope that his Jupiter rises in Pisces, and that his progressed Venus and Moon were combined with Neptune during these recent weeks. Perhaps a genuine influx of compassion has entered him, although given the fundamentalist rigidity from the aspects above, and the fact that Karl Rove also has Jupiter in Pisces rising, I am afraid that these aspects may serve to make him more certain that he is justified in pulling out all stops to follow a cause, obey a "deity," achieve a "sanctified" goal.

When I heard that he was the author of the edicts against the US presidential candidate John Kerry being given communion, as well as forbidding communion to anyone who voted for him, my concern deepened. It sounds like he is the perfect pope for the Dominionist plot to take over the world.

I sure hope I am wrong. Whatever his role, it will be a powerful one. In 2009, Pluto will transit over his zenithed South node as it trines his 2nd house Chiron in Taurus. That may either remove him from power, perhaps through his death; transform his holy vision; or possess him of a powerful Plutonian archetype of a frightening sort; or some combination of the above.

Also, glancing at his Vedic chart, he has been under the influence of Mercury in Pisces in the second house since 1988, and before that Saturn in the tenth in Scorpio which began in 1969, around the time of his shift from liberal to conservative. Since March of 2003 he has been under these influences of Saturn and Mercury combined. He issued the communion denying order in June of 2003.

The cycle changes completely this October, when he enters a seven year period ruled by the South node in the house of religious goals in Sagittarius. At the time Pluto transits this point, 2009, the intensity of this transformation will be shot through with religiosity, as Jupiter rules the sub-period.

We shall see. In my optimism, I will be watching for small signs of compassion, and signs of a desire to reconcile . In my reality-based understanding, I expect edicts to bring about compliance and strict obedience.

These are truly interesting times.

I hope others will post images of the chart and add your wisdom!

1. Ojai Person, very interesting delineation. If you want to post
his chart, go to Astro.com - fill in the info for charts, you'll get a picture, hit it, get "properties", copy , and then paste here.

That should work.

4. His Sun is in wide opposition to his Moon. Guess no women priests
or married priests are going to be coming down the pike.

:)

And his pronouncements that other religions more or less are deficient - doesn't sound like he's going to be a peacemaker - as a matter of fact it sounds more like the pope who helped the Nazis.

Then, there's his threats to excommunicate those in America who don't vote the way he thinks they should - and of course don't forget he's the author of "homosexuals are evil".

In any case, I intend to take a trip to Italy to see St. Peter's before it isn't there anymore.

St. Malachy predicts after this one, there is one more Pope and the Vatican will be destroyed.

Finally, you have to wonder, or I do, how stupid or out of touch with the world these people (the cardinals who put him in) can be.

5. Moon in the 7th squared by Pluto shows he isn't prone to compromise,
especially wrt issues involving women, marriage or relationship (gay) choices. Jupiter's station close by may make a difference though in him changing his mind...?

I think the cardinals who appointed him were tuning into a plan of world dominion, consciously or not. How far this plan gets will be determined by how fast people wake up to it. I see 2008 as the crucial beginning of widespread awakening to the fact that the government, powers that be, are not what they profess to be.

13. As an astrology student, I'd be glad to hear your opinions,
Ojai and Pallas, on his 4th house.

I see a man with heaps of energy, both mental and physical, and
Mars in the 4th can indicate a strong sexuality, but it's badly
aspected, and with that Saturn/Venus opposition as well, I'm
inclined to think that the sexuality has turned in on itself, and
resulted in a fear or abhorrence of all things sexual. With both
Mars and Pluto in the 4th, I'm wondering about violence in the
home, and could there have been a sexual side to that?

16. Good call about violence in the home.
Mars in the 4th with the North Node squared closely by Uranus in the first with Mercury would indicate a violence from/toward boyhood...

Sexuality may be re-routed in mental ways.

17. The "awakening" ....God I hope You're Right About This!!
More than ANYTHING, we (the people of the world) need an AWAKENING! We hold the power...in numbers! We just need to be ready to ACT, and to take the power that is in all of us, to form a peaceful world.

9. someone here had posted that to conform with Malachy
this Pope may take the name Benedict, and I repeated it -- I was not too blown away when I heard that Ratzinger had taken the name. Now, the church officially poo-poo's the last prediction, but it sure massages to carry out the rest of them, huh? Ratzinger had a stroke in 1991 and has already mentioned a short papacy -- he may fall ill by 2009.

6. Yikes, his progressed Sun will be right on Pluto, as well his ascendant
around 2008-09.

Whatever he is doing, it will be intensified and has a powerfully transforming effect, for good or ill.

7. he has already stated that he will work to unite "christians"...he thinks

others are misguided....such as Buddhists.

I was taught this crap in catholic school...the only people who would go to heaven were catholics. I questioned that premise at an early age..that was the beginning of the end of my catholic experience.

Organized religion is good if you need it....and is a tool toward personal growth....but there is a point where we move on...we graduate....and find our own personal truth outside of an organized, imposed, way of thinking. (IMHO)

8. I agree Gin. When he says he'll unite Christians what he means
and has stated is that any religion other than Catholicism is "deficient".

He means to convert Protestants, Evangelists, Baptists every branch of Christianity back into Catholicism, and is one of those that is bent on converting Jews. Never mind what will happen if he orders his missionaries to descend on Muslims and the Chinese.

One of his titles prior to being Pope was Chief of Inquisition, related to the Inquisitions of the 1500's.

The electoral college in recent years was packed with supposedly "John Paul's 2's choices". But John Paul 2 has been in seriously failing health for many years and surrounded by Ratzinger, Navarro Valls, and a couple of other Opus Dei types. Somehow I doubt
that JP2 made all those choices.

A pity. The religious wars across the world are going to be inflamed.

11. A post clarifed Ratzinger's involvement in denying communion to Kerry and
voters:

This is important. The man may be somewhat reasonable, even if very strict. At least he has some integrity.

15. Thanks for the chart. It looks like 2008 ought to be pivotal
Edited on Sun Apr-24-05 02:56 PM by Dover
Just a quick glance shows that transiting Pluto will be opposing natal Mars and North Node from the 10th Hs.. Transiting Uranus will conjunct his Ascendent. Transiting Neptune will oppose natal Neptune from the 12th House. And last but not least, transiting Saturn will square his natal Saturn from the 6th. Whoa!

That's quite a collection of energies!

18. Right you are, Dover. And anybody that has ever had
Uranus transit their Asc. KNOWS what kind of havoc this reeks. It is not only transformational; it's transformational in a way that is totally UNpredictable! It seems that, especially, spiritually inclined people tend to find this a period of time that kicks their butts every which-way to Sunday and back. Many people break ties, permanently, with people in their past (opposite 7th house from "who you are"). People go through huge changes in their lives with this transit...awakenings, rebellions, lightning-fast reversals.

It will be interesting to watch.
