Jody wrote me that she's gotten lots of people who wanted readings and so she's booked for a while now and is no longer offering the readings at this time. I will let you know when she starts it back up again.

It was by sheer happenstance (i.e. divine Universe intervention) that I found my way to her blog on just the day she "came out" as a psychic. I had posted on my blog that I, too, was coming out into the public with my psychic abilities. I was so happy to help her by putting the call out to my friends here who are open to this because I think she has wonderful gifts.

11. My reading was very interesting.

Jody is a nice, polite person, which was a big relief (I've dealt with some extremely insensitive readers in the last couple of years, especially those who communicated with my guides).

Apparently, one of my guides is, er, not serving my best interests. What my guides told Jody was that they think this guide (evidently, it's my primary "career" guide) should be replaced. So, I'm supposed to consider requesting a new guide for career stuff, which I'm sort of ambivalent about doing. Requesting a new guide, that is.

Who knew a person could have a non-helpful guide? I certainly didn't.

I also liked Jody. She responded quickly and was very nice. I also appreciated her well written response, a welcome contrast from some psychics I've interacted with.

My question concerned career and she told me that I should fire my career guide and ask for two more. (I must need lots of help.)
I politely asked for something like that (I couldn't fire employees in real life; no way I could fire a guide) in a meditation and prayer.

The odd thing is that night I had a dream that my cell phone was ringing. I wouldn't answer the call until I could see who was calling. I kept trying to get the phone in the light so I could read the numbers but couldn't do it. I left the phone keep ringing rather than answering it.
I think this dream was my guides telling me that they were indeed guiding me. I was just not listening or taking their calls.

13. Soul Realignment work

Not sure if you all are familiar with this modality, but it is really cool. I am in the process of getting certified in it now. One of the many things that can be done to assist others with their spiritual path is changing around and moving out spirit guides that are not working in your highest good. (There's lots of other stuff too - check the site out.)

When Jody told me I had two who were not working for me, my friend Marianne (who has also learned this work), facilitated the changing of my guides and it's been very interesting since. I did this for one of my friends and his life has totally blossomed. It's been interesting to see what an amazing effect this simple piece has had on several people I know.

14. Wonderful dream. Why was it important to see who was calling first?

Perhaps it is in the dark that this communication happens (in the subconscious/intuitive or dream state), and that is an area you don't quite trust because...? At any rate, it sounds like you 'heard' the dream and intuitively know who was calling.

17. This is what I do in real life

I got in the habit of doing this a few years ago when I needed to screen calls at work in order to get things done. I started doing it in my personal life when I was a deep depression and really didn't want to talk to people.
As for the meaning of the dream, I think is a metaphor. My guides may have been telling me that I need to take action even if I don't know what the result will be.

20. I went ahead and asked for a new guide last night, too.

By telling Spirit that if one of my guides wanted to be released from the responsibility of guiding me, then so be it. That guide should move on to another human or stop being a guide or whatever. I requested a replacement guide of suitable stature, whatever that might be.

Then I had some not some great dreams, but I'm chocking those up to my anxieties about how my life will change if I have a new guide (what if that guide stops helping me, too?).

Still, the Jody reading was interesting so I'm glad I did it.

to share anyway. :)

First, I also contacted Jody; lovely energy she has...thank you for posting her kind offer, mysticalchick. :hi:

Secondly, I flashed on a dream right after contacting her. It was triggered by an image on the TV (which I keep on mute in the background as I work so I don't feel as lonely...lol); it was an eagle, flying with someone who was hang gliding.

The dream, at least what I remembered, involved the hawk, which has been my totem for at least six years now.

In the dream, a hawk startled me (slightly) by flying close and then landing on my left forearm (though I'm thinking it was my hand for some reason). I was surprised, but not frightened whatsoever, just caught off guard a little. After the initial surprise, it was natural...very comforting and reassuring. As though we were partners, very connected.

Just sharing, for no apparent reason. ;)

Hi all ...

RE: the question on "firing" spirit guides - I spoke with the woman who teaches the Soul Realignment work and she referred me to the info in the practitioner course which says this:

"One or two of them have probably been with you since birth. You will have "hired" the others as you progressed through adolescence into early adulthood."

So, that answers the question of how they are assigned and why it' ok to release those who are no longer working in your highest good.
Does that make sense?

I will start a thread (prob tonight) about this and other soul realignment stuff so we can bat it back and forth and see what you guys think.

I contacted Jody with my question when I saw your post, and submitted my question that concerned my relationship with two people in my family. Her reading stunned me. She described perfectly what was taking place, as if she had lived with us and observed us for the last two to three years. She has also set my mind at ease over the course of action I have taken regarding those people. She really has a rare gift! She has also CONVINCED me that this spirit guide stuff is real! How else would she have known exactly what was happening, and how I have now acted to resolve the situation? I am pretty ignorant of what spirit guides are and what they do, so if any of you can post some pearls of wisdom here, I'm all ears!

Maybe my question was too general, but as with votesomemore, the response was truly not appropriate to my situation or to me, nor did it seem in tone or words like anything my spirit guides have communicated to me in the past.

... we get what is needed at the time of asking. I've had readings that didn't resonate with me so much and made me wonder what was going on. I usually just let them sit a while in my head/heart and take what I can from it. It can be kind of disheartening to get a reading that really doesn't fit you. But I trust in the wisdom of my guides and teachers and know that what came through *is* what I needed, even if my conscious mind doesn't quite get it.

I thought if I sat on it for a while, it would make more sense.

But the opposite happened. The more I sat on it, the more I realized it just didn't fit. Frankly, to the point of being potentially dangerous to me, except that my initial gut reaction was to buffer myself against the negativity. I didn't get my question answered. I did get very generalized support statement and then very generalized criticism. The criticism didn't make sense

I've had 5-6 false restarts to my life in the last 8 years. I've been running myself into the ground maintaining a 4.0 average in a very tough pre-med program, only to see myself facing the same sort of headwinds that destroyed my prior attempts to restart my life. So I'm concerned that this, too, will end up a failed path, in which case my hours of studying and work will be more wasted time, effort and money. I've also been beating myself up for not finding better help for Jakey sooner, and was truly worried sick about him (I've since found a good vet and he's bouncing back and may regain full health in a few months).

So it really didn't make sense to tell me to quit feeling sorry for myself and that I needed a kick in the butt. Especially when I had been stressed to the point that a couple weeks ago I literally broke down and beat myself on the face until I had bruises.

Given that she didn't know those details, it wasn't intentionally cruel. But it was, in effect, potentially cruel and misguided. And I don't believe the message came from my guardian spirits.
