Welcome to April. I hope you are doing well. Almost everyone is feeling the “pinch” of the new world order. It doesn’t look like things are not going to go “back the way they were.” Even though the economic/political climate has never been more unstable, it may ultimately be a good thing; a sign of new, true change. I hope you’ll find some inspiration from this newsletter and that you may find new footing in these challenging times. Saturn in Virgo, the workhorse, will be giving way to Uranus, the liberator, around April 13. Watch for the shift. Everyone – hang in there, and remember your Starself. What an active month planetarily!
You Say You Want a Revolution?
I know things are “stirring” to put it mildly, but you ain’t seen nothing yet. And this could be a real good one! How about a revolution? Eh, Mr. Lennon? Well, its coming – next summer. On May 27, 2010 Uranus starts a new zodiac. It enters Aries then and about a week later, Jupiter does too! It ingresses into Aries on June 6, 2010. These two intensely, wild, free energies certainly indicate a coming revolution – planet-wide, and from the ground up. Let’s hope we can channel it well, use it wisely, and head for a newer world that is best for all. This is truly HUGE.
I Became Quite Worried, Until….
With all the mess that Pluto left behind between 1995 and 2008, well, it’s been kind of overwhelming. Even though the sign of Sagittarius has a great “up-side,” we surely are feeling the crunch from some things Sagittarian: credit cards, deregulation, over-extending ourselves, telemarketers, mortgage crisis, “Shock and Awe”, phishing, spam, spyware, etc., etc. It has also left behind a much bigger world that is at the same time much smaller, and: WE ARE TALKING TO EACH OTHER NOW
I think the bloggers are going to have much to do with turning this planet around. You can’t BS people anymore; news and opinions travel too fast. Yes, spinners keep spinning, but the truth is emerging much faster too. The old is fading fast, and they are going kicking and screaming.Pluto in Sagittarius has given us the ability to become intimate with millions of folks world-wide. And THAT can only be a good thing Martha.
A Message Brought to You by Richard Alpert and the Planet Neptune
In one of holy man’s, Ram Dass‘ (former Harvard Professor) earlier books, he states: (paraphrasizing) When polarization starts, It us against the Russians, they are “them.” Then, it can become within the USA, North vs. South, they are “them.” Or, it can be Republican vs. Democrats, they are “them.” Then, it gets worse; My family lives on this side of the fence, the neighbors must therefore be “them.” Oh yes, now it’s Me and the wife becomes “them.” Ultimately, I split inside, and there is now a “them” inside me.

We are all one. Even though we have differences, we must respect each other’s point of view. Transiting Saturn in Virgo and Uranus in Pisces are signifying a great schism in this country and elsewhere. We must not let that happen. Life is hard enough – we need each other’s support. This is not what Saturn and Uranus “want.” All the planets do their dance so that we may all be balanced and unified.
Let Go
Be alert. On April 13, 2009, Mars will have inched within one degree of transiting Uranus in Pisces. And, both will stand in opposition to Saturn in Virgo. This in one important face-off of planets. Mars, the agitator, will egg-on Uranus to express its energies (radical, innovative, and outside-the-box.) Saturn (the energy of conservative status-quo) will have to take a back seat for a while. Watch for dramatic shifts both inside you and “outside in the world” although in actuality there is no “out there.” It will break much of the tedium we’ve had recently. At first it will probably be a bit disruptive. Then, look for liberation - Uranus always liberates. The best thing you can do during this time is to NOT be careful; NOT be cautious. This is hard for many folks, but, you’ll be better off if you let go of your safety net for a while.
Ophiucus Puts the SQUEEZE on Scorpio
For decades now, astrologers have been trying to figure out just what to do with the “13th” sign of the zodiac – Ophiucus. Positioned between the signs of Scorpio and Sagittarius, the Sun passes through Ophiuchus between November 30 and December 17 each year. When included in the regular zodiacal belt, it has caused a shakeup to the neat, regular assignment of each of the 12 signs, which had 30 degrees each. With Ophiuchus, Scorpio would change to a mere 10 degrees, while other signs as much as 34. Yet it persists; its placement among the famous dozen just won’t go away.
The symbol for Ophiucus is the “barrel”, a loose paraphrased translation for the Latin name itself which stands for “partaker of spirits.” This interloper was the god of “alterered states by natural means.” If it weren’t for Ophiucus, we would probably have no bars today. As of March 1, 2009, the International Astrologers Union (IAU) out of Greenwich, England has come to consensus and has finally decided to revert back to the comfortable 30 degrees per sign by doing away with the sign Scorpio once and for all. The reasoning was that since Scorpio had only 10 degrees, it was the odd man out. Tables are available on the internet by searching “Opiuchus” to find out if your Sun sign was affected. Also, you should probably look at a calendar while you’re at it to discern the fact that today is April 1.
Each Sign is an Outgrowth of the Sign Before It
Aries springs out of the “nothingness” of Pisces – it’s all about “being a Self”. Taurus takes the new growth in Aries, secures it, plants it, and patiently watches it grow. Gemini quickens the pace; looks around for what’s new and exciting. Cancer wants to “lose their mind” – it’s all about feelings here. Leo wants to transcend the sensitivity of Cancer and finds inner strength through extroversion. Virgos don’t like being the focus; they want their work to speak for itself. Libra doesn’t want to be the second fiddle behind the scenes like Virgo; they want to socialize instead. Scorpio needs to intensify the relationship started in Libra and penetrate deeper into dedication. Sagittarius wants to emerge out of all the intensity of the fire of Scorpio, expand, and have fun. Capricorn feels the need to take responsibility and gets serious about their duty to society. Aquarius regains individuality once lost due to Capricornian comformity. Pisces wants to transcend Self-hood, let go, and merge into the sea of oneness.
Let the Sunshine In
It is quite a contentious belief as to exactly when the “Age of Aquarius” starts/started. The Age of Pisces started “around” the time of Jesus Christ, as the “Ages” move backwards. I guess the rock band, “The Fifth Dimension” had it figured out in their 1969 song, “The Age of Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In”:
When the moon is in the 7th House And Jupiter aligns with Mars Then peace will guide the planets And love will steer the stars
This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius The Age of Aquarius Aquarius! Aquarius!
Let the sunshine in Let the sunshine in……
Even though they have inadvertently done more for the subject of astrology than many astrologers, the Fifth Dimension is still operating within three.
The Looney Moon
I have been astounded lately, after 31 years of doing this, just how powerful the Moon can be in one’s chart. And I’m not talking about the sign the Moon is in either! We’re all taught that in general, your Moon sign is your second most important planet, more or less. What I’ve observed is that if the Moon (in any sign) is strategically placed, such as near the ascendant, descendant, midheaven, or nadir (the four angles,) how Cancerian the personality is. Period. Also, I’ve seen strong Cancer traits exhibited in some charts, otherwise overlooked, simply because it has the Moon square to the ascendant. The Moon can be crazy, i.e., it can behave very irrationally. That’s because it IS irrational. It wants no part of the rational mind – it wants to feel good, no matter what it takes. Usually, when the mind gets involved, it just makes us more miserable. This is why the suit of Swords in the Tarot deck, which represents mentality, is usually a suit of mental aguish of some kind. Moony – looney, whatever it takes. Feel good. The Moon.
This Is What Astrology Is
It‘s a map of: "All deep aspirations and unconscious motivations, all unspoken drives, rise up for the approval or disapproval of the conscious mind, and await its direction. Only when it abdicates its function does it allow itself to become swayed by "negative" experience. Only when it refuses responsibility does it finally find itself at the seeming mercy of events over which it appears to have no control.<.i>" - Seth speaks in: "The Nature of Personal Reality"
