A question about oversouls
Seth said over and over again that we are connected via an "oversoul"--a being that looks after us and who is connected to a group of souls. Jane Roberts even wrote a trilogy of novels about it--The Education of Oversoul Seven being the first.

I would like to know if anyone has had experience with this concept. By this I mean you feel a link with another person not connected to you in any way otherwise, and yet someone you see in your dreams, someone with whom you share thoughts and ideas. I think this has happened to me--through a series of dreams I was led to do something that later I found out was very important to another individual, and something he couldn't do. Last night I again had a dream, and he was in it--we were in a meeting with other souls with whom we felt related, discussing plans and exchanging ideas. The most interesting part was that we were separate entities and yet were able to go inside each other's heads and see things from a new perspective, or rather an enhanced one. In real life, I have met this chap, and we communicated telepathically--only time this has happened in my life--and only afterwards did we speak, and there was no need for an introduction.

So have any of you had a similar experience?

1. I've not experienced what you've described, ayeasha, but...
it sounds amazing to have happen. :)

I haven't read the Seth information, but I'm familiar with something that sounds similar. The description that I've heard is what you're calling the Oversoul is the hand, and the individual personalities that are incarnated are the fingers on the hand. I don't recall it being given a name in the material where I heard it. I just recall the hand example.

2. I like that description
for it is a bit closer to the feeling I had than the idea of oversouls, which seems to imply a separation and some sort of hierarchy.

3. Yes, the hand is a part of us -- not separate from us.
What I found to be really interesting is that what one of us did could influence the others even if we never met. Additionally, we may not all be incarnated at the same time, but we could. In this way, we could even affect history. I find this very interesting and humbling; my right action in this life could help change history.

It certainly makes one think...

4. I'm familiar with this concept.
Read the Michael Newton books, Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls. He tells a lot about our soul groups.

I'm a little puzzled by the many different people I feel strongly connected to, most of whom have no connection with each other. For me, the best explanation of this seems to be that over however many lifetimes I've had I've interacted with a whole lot of others who are also here now, even though they can't all be part of my soul group. At least I don't think so.

5. Who knows how big a soul group is?
If it comes down to us all being aspects of the One, then maybe the soul groups ebb and flow like waves, continuously changing and yet all part of the whole.

6. Perhaps you have travelled with him astrally
I have a friend who told me a story about meeting a girl at a new school and they knew they
"knew" each other. My friend remembered a dream she had when she met her --they were both at a library of some sort. She reminded her of the event and the the girl seemed to have a flash of recognition, then shut down and withdrew.

I have met people I felt I "knew" but sometimes it is an effect after having "hooked in" and while I may know them, they don't know me in the same way so sometimes I am not sure. There is a delightful lady I know that keeps a standard comeback to the instant recognition people have with her-- "I know you from Wegmans!" (Wegmans is a local supermarket that almost everyone in my town visits). She said she started saying it when she worked at Family Planning and it has fit in for almost every other circumstance.
