Mandatory NDEs
Every now and then, thanks to reading about all these violent people that are that way due to racism, pro-life, politics, organized-religion or even the handful of pro-reason types that want forced deprogramming of believers, I’ve pondered what the world would be like if we all had an NDE at some point in our lives.

Not just the kind of near-death experience where you go, meet passed loved ones and talk to Jesus, Buddha or the Wizard of Oz, but the kind where you come back with some reason-defying paranormal ability :D

What would our world be like? More chaos? Less chaos and more peace? I’m thinking that this would be something that would happen in the world as we know it today, though it could take place over a decade or more. Wouldn’t want everyone having their NDEs at the same time; we need the doctors to bring us all back ;)

2. Well, I'd written a response earlier
then decided maybe I don't know what I'm talking about
Anyway, I was thinking that the term near-death experience is also used by those who've had that with no mystical encounter or feelings to bring back. Then, too, there are those who come back with abilities but no encounters, like one guy who became a medium after being struck by lightening. Maybe he just doesn't remember.

So what I'm saying is, and after listening to the NPR series on studies on Spirituality, it seems to me that without the encounter and/or the experience with Oneness, we may have a bunch of Heroes/X-Men like creatures with their own sensibilities, good or bad, about how the world should be. I guess, like us now but more of a mess.

3. Some of these people already have strong paranormal abilities
so paranormal abilities do not automatically confer compassion or simple basic human decency. Maybe if they had one on one with an aspect of the Divine it would change them like Dannion Brinkley was changed  That's no guarantee tho as some people are really gifted at self delusion and narcissism and might be able to change their experience around to suit their worldly world view once they came back.
