I just got Half-Life2. I hate Steam!

So far, the game is great, but i hate having Steam running in the system tray.

1. Have fun

Took me longer to install it than finish. I don't care if HL3 has smell-a-vision, I'm never going to buy a game that forces me to install Steam.

2. I got HL2 last week.

I feel the same about Steam. If I had known that it required an INet connection, registration, and log in to play, I wouldn't have bought it.
What's the deal with that?

I'm guessing that it's for product security?
No resale or copy?
Anyone have the WORD on that?


All that aside, the game itself is cool so far.

Some used games are for sale on E-Bay. I think some people are in for disappointment.

One guy is offering to sell his "Steam Account" password and login with the game.

Overall, I will boycott games that require an internet account to play!

7. LOL... Nearly of boredom with the demo...

Took forever to download and then the chapters they chose to include were yawners.

Visually, the game is stunning.
