ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A Kirtland Air Force Base military police officer accused of killing two people in what police say was a drunken-driving crash has pleaded not guilty.

Micah Henry, a 23-year-old who is charged with two counts of vehicular homicide, entered his pleas Tuesday in state district court.

He is free on $200,000 bond.

Police say he was driving a sport-utility vehicle that ran a red light at an Albuquerque street intersection and plowed into a pickup truck.

Police say two people in the truck — 44-year-old Marvin Garcia of Santa Fe and his girlfriend, 47-year-old Josephine Laweka of Cochiti Pueblo — were killed in the New Year’s Day crash.
