Survivor Palau is here! I have been waiting for the fun to start. Each season I try to play in an online game along with the TV show. This year I decided to start a team in one of my favorites.

The team I started is called DU Survivors.

This is a website all about Survivor. The front page links to news articles about the game, past contestants and some general news info related to Survivor. There are links for Spoiler info, but if you want to avoid that it is very simple, don't click on the spoilers link.

I'd like to invite all DUers who like the show to join my team. I don't much care if we win anything, but there are some prizes, I think the winner gets a gift certificate or gets a donation paid in the winners name.

Go to the web site and check it out. To play, register as a new user. At some point it will say Vote and Team list. Click on Team list and page down to DU Survivors. The password is durules.

3. I'm all for it

LAst time it was $250 I think, and it went to the Elizabeth Glazier AIDS Foundation. It may not be able to go to DU since DU is not a 501c3 tax deductible organization. Even if we can;t give it to DU, We can give it to some other worthy cause. If we win. There are some really good players out there.

4. Sure

The questions are usually based on the TV commercial previews. They base them on both the Canadian and US previews. Like the question about the walk with Jeff, they usually link to the screen caps of the previews.

We talked about this before. I know we differ a great deal on our definition of spoilers. For example, Jeff was on a radio show yesterday and gave the answer to the questions 1 and 3. Is that spoiling the show when Jeff gave the answer out in an interview. Mark Burnett and Jeff Probst script out the release of info, so it is not a mistake, he meant to get it out there to drive up the ratings. I don't consider that info a spoiler, but I am sure some would. I only consider a spoiler info based on investigation not released by MB or CBS (I lump Probst in with MB). Stuff about how much weight these people lost is spoilers (it can indicate how long they were in the game). People follow the contestants around to get info about who they talk too. On Africa, a guy went through Ethan's garbage to get his phone bill and found out he talked to Lex all the time. They put Ethan and Lex in the final four based on that info once the voting alliances were clear. In Africa they also found out from Lindsay's friends in Portland OR that she got bounced after feeling sick. That is spoiling and is all no good. But info that MB lets out seems okay to me.

I think these questions fall into my understanding of the game. Stuff that gets out there from the TV Guide Channel preview, the US magazine story, the early show clips, MB and JP interviews and the CBS commercials will probably be included in these questions.
If you think it is getting to close to spoiling and don't like it lazarus, feel free to bail out. I won't have any hard feelings.

You once mentioned you ran a board of non-spoiler discussion of survivor. Is it still active? I'd love to take a look.

11. actually, we do agree on spoilers

So long as it comes from MB or Probst or CBS, it's fair game, imo. I know people who actually avoid promos and stuff, and I can understand that, too.

Imagine if you hadn't known about Fairplay's "Big Lie" in Pearl Islands. Or that Big Lie was even coming. Boom! That would have rocked. (BTW, I think that was one of the coolest things anyone's ever done on the show.)

21. That would be great

The only problem is that in order for these shows to continue to be produced they need to get ratings. To get new fans, they need to advertise the big surprises. That "big lie" caused a point and a half spike that Survivor carried through the last episodes and the finale. So I understand why they do it. I'm not sure that I would have liked it less if I did not know about it. Most forms of entertainment I choose becaus eI know somethign about them ahead of time. I usually read a book on a recommendation or a review int he Times. I usually see a film after a good review or a good trailer/promo. Why should TV be different. Those teasers don't make me enjoy the books or films less.

Anyway, glad we do not disagree on spoilers. I will check out your board.

I loved Africa until Lyndsay got the boot. I hung out with her a few times when I live in Portland. She was friends with friends. I probably only said ten words to her, but I thought that was cool.

The winner of the last Survivor lived about 35 miles from me in London, Ohio near Columbus. My nephew lives there, and met the guy at a bar a few months before they knew who won... but after the game was completed by the contestants.

Gheeze this may be a festive game.

8. According to CBS, one Survivor is suspicious about a special alliance developing between two tribemates. These two suspected tribemates are on which tribe?

According to the episode guide on my DVR, "romance brews at both camps, causing suspicion."

I guess that could be the answer "one of each", but it seems that there's a couple at each camp. Doesn't it?

Or maybe it's not romance that the "special alliance" is referring to.

30. I think the answer is keyed by the suspicious survivor.

If they show only one survivor raising questions about a couple, it is the tribe of the couple that survivor is wondering about.

On a side note, I would be very wary of a Rob/Amber alliance. I always try to pick apart the couples. I think the decision to bounce Sarah hurt Rob (and I missed Sarah in that bikini). Amber sticking around gave them the power. I would be suspicious of couples.

32. Yikes - my wk #2 score SUCKED

I think the only thing I got right is that they'd make Willard sit out the Rewards Challenge.

Predicted that they'd recover only part of the sunken box (they recovered the whole thing) that both tribes would get fish, and that the young bucks would win both challenges (obviously wrong on all counts).

My favorite player is Ian (he's a Penn Stater and talks up the Penn State Dance Marathon on his profile) and so I'm rooting for Koror, but I voted that they would lose both challenges (I should have known old & smart beats young & dumb, no matter how strong, most days).

I'm just way too into the game, I guess. I've been studying the promos for clues since Season 4, I think. And I've seen every episode twice (except for S4, only once cause I lost my tapes).

So I've figured out a bit of the pattern that MB uses for his promos. And the rest is just guessing.

And I figure it is Ibrahim because we haven't heard more than two words from him the entire season, James gets mad at him, the tribe then clips him. I also figure that Jenn will jump to Kuror because she knows they are a winner, and Kuror will be happy to have another hard worker on board.

Caryn is on everybody's short list I think and she was bloody useless in the challenges last week...

What do you think is going on with Ulong? I'm sure they will lose again this week. I think it will be either Bobby John or James going. Stephanie seems to be the only one on that tribe going in the right direction. I like her. I hope she gets in with the other tribe once a merge happens and she goes further in the game. My says its becaus eI like sheeing her swimming in her bra, but I like her. She is cute and fun to listen to. She hates James, but did not have th evotes in the past to get him out. I think she will this week, but Bobby John might not go for it.

I am feeling very bad for Ulong. It is just sad to see them lose. I keep hoping for a merge so my girl Stephanie has a chance to win this thing. I like Bobby John and Ib too, so I am pulling for either a merge or a Ulong win this week.

I don't think there is a merge this week though. I feel another Ulong loss and Ib getting ousted by Steph and Bobby John. This is just my gut though. They usually hint at the merge in the previews, and this preview was all about poor Bobby John's little shrimp catch and Tom;s big shark catch.

I wonder if any Ulong's will make it past the merge. We've never had a jury made up on only one tribe. That would be weird.
