Republicans' hurt feelings. You've got to be kidding.
I wonder how the media would have reacted if Kerry had said something like that in 2004, after some of his colleagues called him a traitor or things similar on the Senate floor?

http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/

REPUBLICANS' HURT FEELINGS.... Last week, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) apparently refused to speak to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) because McConnell's feelings were hurt. It seems the Democratic efforts to defeat McConnell's re-election bid had been deemed "overly aggressive."

Likewise, Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) reportedly told colleagues at a Senate prayer breakfast last week that she feels "lingering resentment toward Democratic senators who campaigned against her." Collins reportedly confessed that that she had "trouble forgiving colleagues" who campaigned against her.

2. Did wittle Mitchy feel bad, ooooh, poor baby
Maybe some day he will have something on the floor of the Senate that he actually believes in (a stretch, I know) and be giving a speech and then have another Senator call time on him. Just for fun and for spite and to show contempt. Then, even though the objection was based on the fact that so many of the opposition wanted to speak that time was just not available, then, put no one on the floor to speak.

That's who widdle Mitchy is.

3. That still infuriates me that he did that to Kerry
when he was speaking against voting for cloture on Alito, giving a speech far too compelling and brilliant to ever be a McConell speech. One thing obvious is that he likely wouldn't have lasted a week under the attacks Kerry faced daily from November 2004 (when he nearly was elected President) though at least early 2007 from half of his own party as well as the Republicans.

4. Seriously??
Bill Frist, the leader of the senate republicans in 2004, targeted Daschle in 2004 and then traveled to South Dakota and campaigned against him. I think this was the first time a leader of a party in the Senate campaigned against the leader of another party in the Senate. I believe it was an unwritten rule of the Senate not to do this.

I found this article regarding the targeting of McConnell.

The Republicans need to quit complaining. Maybe they have selective memory to what was said about JK during the campaign in 2004.

5. Whining is what Republicans do best
They say and do some of the most vicious and mean-spirited things. However, they are the most sensitive babies when they are on the receiving end of anything negative. They thrive on their victimhood. :eyes:
