1. Thinking about it but I don't know what I'd change it to
So many people here know me as WEL so it's probably not worth it.

2. Not me
Noisy Democrat is a Kerry-inspired name, even though the reference is so obscure that only Luftmensch gets it; I'll stick with it for a while.

3. Thinking about it.
The "sista" part should now be reserved for the First Lady MO. :) And it sounds diva-ish, even though I'm really not a diva. :)

But most know me as politicasista. :grouphug:

4. Maybe there's a black/white gap
I don't think of "sista" as diva-ish. Educate me sweets.

I like your name too, I'd hate to see you change it. And I don't think the First Lady is going to be turning up on DU, so you may as well use the "sista", don't you think?

8. Guessing it's the way it sounds
"sista" is slang for "sister" just like "brotha" is slang for "brother." So, I am not sure if it's a black/white gap. (I know a lot of white dudes that say "bro")

On second thought, I don't think MO will be turning up on DU (unless there is a staff member lurking, unlikely. :)), but I have had the name since I posted at the old Kerry/Edwards, Common Ground, Common Sense forums back in 2004. Plus, I am trying to be more positive in 09, and not anger people here who support the good senator as being politicasista.

As Skinner said, changing your username requires lots of long, hard thinking, but I am sure I will stick with it in the end. :)

9. I meant the "diva" part
I'd never thought of it as "divaish".

Nobody angers people more than I do, and I'm not changing my name. Just be who you are. That's what I think.

10. Not that's not divaish
Depending on who you talk to. In a way, it can be taken as strong or cool.

Thanks for the advice. The name changing thing is really weird. Plus, DU (though I am not the most prolific poster out there. :)), already knows me as politicasista, so I will keep the username. :hi: :grouphug:

6. No
I won't. ANd I hate the idea. When looking through lond threads, I usually quickly scan through the names and try to read the posts of people I "know" and are likely to have something worthwhile to say. I already happened by chance upon a couple of changes names that will most likely sink under the radar for me because of this.

7. I did a few days ago
LevensonK has haunted me with its pathetic lack of creativity since 2001, so I was really happy to get the opportunity to change my user name. I haven't been posting much lately, but I wanted to throw up at least a couple of comments post-name change so you guys wouldn't wonder who invaded the JK forum in a couple of months :D

12. I've toyed seriously with the idea, since I'm not a Clarkie anymore
And every once in a while someone on the board bitches at me as if I were, as in "I'd expect so and so from a Clarkie" or somesuch.

I sometimes think I'd like something more Kerry-centric, but then as some have pointed out, LC is my identity now. It sucks getting used to new names.

So I'll stay as I am. The name has a history, I suppose, that connects to how I got into politics in the first place, and came about organically in 2004 when someone liked that I referred to myself as just a little Clarkie for Kerry.
