Birthday activities this year?
Just wondering if there's any plans in the works for the Big Day in December this year?

1. Good question
Copenhagen's summit is December 6 - 18th, so like 2007, he will likely be out of the country. (Hopefully having passed his climate change bill.)

3. Having passed the climate bill
by December? You are kidding, right? `We would be extremely lucky if the health care reform is passed by then (and even luckier if it ends up being not too bad).

8. I think it highly unlikely, but I assume the goal is to at least have a bill out
of the committees that will mark it up. I think that Baucus by wasting so much time with the Healthcare bill may have hurt the schedule for this. There has to be something to show that the US is serious.

2. I'll chime in my interest on this as well.

Frankly, I miss all you guys. It would be great to have a get together in a way that wasn't necessarily dependent on the Senator's insane schedule. When is Copenhagen? Because doesn't that darn climate change conference interfere with his b-day bloody every year?

Edit: Just saw your post, Karynnj. The answer being a big YUP. He will be out of the country.

4. Seconded
Though in terms of the birthday, is something is decided I will be out of the loop, I am going to ROmania in 10 days or so and will be away until Thanksgiving (in touch though, since my soon to be 93 years old mother has better Internet access than I have :-)). But I would love to have the chance to finally meet some of you (and no offense to the MA people, Boston in December if it is not JK related would not be at the top of my list).

on all counts.

I love my home state and Boston, but we did that twice. And who's to say we can't celebrate a half-birthday in, say, June, in some other locale that would give people a chance to see each other.

I hear that Pittsburgh is very nice.

Thoughts?

12. Another vote for Pittsburgh
I may even be able to drive... Let's keep this kicked, metaphorically speaking, so it does not die down? Please?

14. Boston or Pitt
is fine with me. I don't think I have ever been to Pittsburgh, maybe driven through it but that's about it. Also I hear a certain wife of someone we all know ;-) hails from Pittsburgh. Maybe we could see the farm.
