10. It's so frustrating...
...He announced he was doing this around a MONTH AGO, didn't he? People are acting like he saw Congress's schedule yesterday, thought "Election certification??! EEEEEEEEK!! I have to go somewhere SAFE!"

11. Shitstorm will come, this weekend
Jan 6th, Congress certifies the election
Jan 8th, John Kerry helps in observing the Palestinian election to monitor for fraud.
Jan 8th one nanosecond after AP story appears, Shitstorm hits DU (and other Dem blogs.) (Monitoring their election??????? What about ours????? I can just see it now.)

This will happen, so I'm sheltering in here this weekend from the storm.

12. You're right. Why is it in the BBC but not the US newspapers. I
just find that rather annoying. It will show up eventually, I know.

14. I saw three international stories, including BBC
Agence France had a story (about 4 short paragraphs) and Xinxau which is either the Chinese or Hong Kong national press had a story. (Same as Agence France.) It mentioned the meeting in Aman, Jordan and the upcoming elections in the Palestinian territories. I actually liked the one I posted because the translation software was a little off. (I'm quirky, so sue me.)

I didn't really search very hard. I only had a couple of free seconds to search. I can dip a much larger ladel into the info stream if you like. (I have access to ten thousand global sources of information, when I am at work. I can build a search, look for a particular IP, or Information Provider and go to town.)

when our press just ignores things and you can only find them in the international press.

19. Pirate,
I went over to your thread to try to shore up JK on some of those unfair blows--I felt like letting off some steam--lol--so it was good for that, even if I didn't convince anyone. I do think I got in a few good zingers. }(

Senator John Kerry visits Jordan, discuss Mideast peace with king

AMMAN, Jordan— U.S. Sen. John Kerry discussed Iraq and ways to revive the Israeli-Palestinian peace process with Jordan's King Abdullah II on Tuesday, the official Jordanian news agency Petra reported.

Little else emerged from the former Democratic presidential candidate's meeting with the king at his palace on hill overlooking Amman. The Massachusetts senator arrived in Jordan earlier Tuesday and was scheduled to leave for an unspecified destination on Wednesday, according to the U.S. Embassy.
