and trying a different approach to combating the negativity... posted this at the end of a nearly-dead anti-Kerry thread. I've put similar posts around DU in different threads...nothing in a separate post or directly challenging any individual...don't want to scream...just trying a little whisper. Sometimes whispers travel where shouts dare not go.

I've decided never to debate the debaters but to comment instead on the positive comments. This takes the direct challenge out of what is said and it makes me feel better when I do not have to reply directly to buttheads. And okay, I'm guilty of trying to instigate paranoia, but hey, I'm a firm believer that a little healty paranoia goes a long way.

1. I like that approach.

I really feel like the Kerry-bashers enjoy fighting with Kerrycrats. Why else would there be so many anti-Kerry posts with so little use of the forums for other pols? I defend JK in GD and GDP sometimes, but I try not to let people who may just want to provoke arguments take up too much of my time.

4. Somebody once told me (and it wasn't even a Kerry person)

that if folks are resorting to calling people "sychophant" and "Kerrybot," then they've run out of things to say.

while letting them know I civilly disagree. Otherwise, I use the alert button.

I've been trying not to get frustrated and simlpy point out the facts, but resisting the urge to scream is hard.
