1. I lost what little respect..
..I had left for Lieberman after hearing his concession speech. The bitterness was over-flowing. I don't think Lamont will win in November, but I will do everything I can to ensure that he does.

4. He very quickly
congratulated Lamont on his win and then launched into a fight against partisan politics. He didn't accuse Lamont straight-up but the implication was there.

13. I agree. I just heard a clip of his concession speech
and he said "partisan politics won today." WTF? Maybe he's admitting that he really is a Republican. In that case, yeah I guess it was "partisan".

Sorry Joe, the tribe has spoken, you'll be asked to leave the island immediately.

7. it's still all about Joe.
Some caller on C-span said that he'd promised not to serve longer than 18 years. Well, time's up and where is that promise?

He doesn't care about the party, only himself. I hope this angers enough people in Connecticut so that they vote him down.

2. And Georgia too! McKinney is a nutcase.
I have to say I'm a little sad about Joe! But I understand why he lost....I'm not even sure I would have voted for him today....regardles...McKinney is a flat out nutcase. It only helps the Democratic Party that she lost today.

14. Oh fantastic that McKinney is out.
I have a Republican (liberal on many issues really) friend in that district who dutifully votes in the Democratic primary every two years to try to knock her out; glad it was a success this time. And now we Democrats have one less cannon fodder from the Republicans -- man the MSM had a heyday with the latest fiasco, and sensible Dems both in DC and in Atlanta said enough was enough. Really good news.

12. His speech was totally disgusting
all Joe, Joe, Joe, and not one bit of class. He is just like Bush a divider not a uniter. He made me sick tonight.

To all the other true blue Dems (especially you DC) congrats on a great win for Lamont. Lamont will need a lot of help in the next few months if Lieberman pulls his Independent bs, which according to him he will do tomorrow. When he steps foot back into the Senate that D beside his name needs to go and he should resign from all his co-chair duties on committees.

15. I was born and raised in Conn., although I don't live there now, and
I tell you I mostly stayed on the sidelines during this primary, because I honestly didn't know how I felt about it. But now that Lieberman has lost the primary, he is a TOTAL SOB to run as an Independent and thereby jeopardize his OWN PARTY'S opportunity to become a majority party in '06. If I lived in Conn., I would without a doubt vote for Lamont in the General. Lieberman is NOT Lowell Weicker. You don't become an Independent just because you're out of other options -- you do it out of principle (my parents are Independents). I hope people in Conn. see this unfettered ambition for what it is.
