i had a panic attack today
leaving my shrink's office walking through the lobby, i found myself face to face (less than a foot) with my very own personal boogie man; it could have been his twin. my ears were ringing, my knees buckled and i fainted. when i came to, he and my shrink and the receptionist were hovering over me. i had even pissed myself.
so....................he took me back into his office and kept saying it's ok, you are safe, no one will hurt you here, i'll walk you to your car.
what are the odds of this happening in his clinic? the boogie man i speak of is a serial killer who left me for dead. will i ever not fear what i know of evil? there is no pill. there is no book. but there is DU, where i can post the experience.

1. i can only say wow.
is this person in prison? i can't imagine carrying around that kind of evidence of evil. wow.
i can only offer you :hugs: and say that if you want to post more about it, i will read it. i know there are some people here who probably can't read it. so maybe you should make sure your subject line warns people.
:hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

2. I wouldn't call that an irrational reaction

If I came face to face with someone that looked like a person that tried to kill me I probably would have had the same reaction that you had and I have never had a panic attack.

8. Oh don't worry about that - doctors are used to that stuff
Besides I once went to a chinese restaurant and as I was leaving I fainted, hit my head on the cigarette machine and then got up and started puking all over the place! It must have been quite a sight for the patrons coming in!

3. You poor thing
I can't imagine having that experience. If it had to happen, I'm glad it was in the shrink's office rather than in the parking lot. Be extra good to yourself tonight.

7. If it had to happen, better that your doctor got to see, to know
what you two are dealing with.

Sending lots of love your way.

Beth
