Help me with my cognitive dissonance.
I just couldn't help it. To get more out of my camera I went ahead and purchased my first L series lens from Canon. I purchased this telephoto lens: EF 200mmL USM. Even though I do more close-ups and portraits, I find I need a better telephoto lens than the stock zoom lens that came with my Digital Rebel XT. I got it for a good price for an L series.

1. I can't wait to see some pix...
Don't feel bad -- everybody deserves something nice for themselves now and then. :)

2. My cognitive dissonance is really high.
I actually cancelled the order then ordered again but this time I decided to sacrifice some f-stops (so I won't being doing any low-light photos) to get a telephoto zoom, the EF 70-200mm nonIS (I'll have to use a tripod) L series. I decided I wanted the ability to zoom as well.

3. Use it a lot and get some nice photos that you would have missed.
That will be what settles the matter.

4. And you didn't get the 1.4X extender?
What kind of camera you have?

5. Way ahead of you.
I just need to save up a bit more money. Did you see post #2? I decided I wanted some zoom capability.
