12. Well, it was the 2004 primaries run up (Nov. '03)- pic heavy!!

Clark campaign had this camper gig called 'Race for America' (I think) and they had two groups one starting in Little Rock, the other on the East coast. The guy who drafted Clark (John Hlinko) drove the East Coast camper, and they hit Charlottesville in late November. So we painted the town BLUE for them. Had a big shindig on the downtown mall, balloons, etc. And one of our volunteers had a llama farm, SO, she brought the llama along. It was hysterical. We got some good press...here's some photos from that event, wow - such hopeful times, we really thought no matter what Bushler would be gone in a year. We had a blast while it lasted, I worked the NH primary for him, then in SC, the wheels fell off. By the time the VA primary hit in Feb, it was pretty much all over. :cry: I had so much fun, and took alot of photos of Clark along the way, many of my pix were on his website, that made me very proud. I was kind of an unofficial amateur photographer for the campaign.

Hang in there. Two more years and we can get a Democrat into the Oval Office (and give him or her a big shovel to muck it out with as the first order of business). These pictures give me hope for better times ahead. I'm just going out to mail in my absentee ballot. Now I'll do so with a spring in my step.:)

25. Thanks! It was so much fun, a real learning experience

I had NEVER been active in politics before, so I threw my heart and soul into the campaign. At one point my dad and I were on CNN when Clark was in Peterborough, New Hampshire. We were tapped to get lunch for Clark & his crew; walking back from the local deli, we cracked up wondering if we could say we brought lunch to the President. But it wasn't meant to be, at least in '04 :cry:
