He's really just the best. We had to wait all these years to be together, but he's sure been making up for lost time. :) (You do know that we were high school sweethearts 43 years ago, right? And that we didn't see each other again until 2000? Somebody better make a movie...)

4. Awww, now that is a sweet story...

My high school sweetie just got married for the first time this past September. We always thought we would tie the knot, but life had its twists and turns, and everytime I had a chance to be with him again, I was with someone else. Missed opportunities. Now I see that we are very different, and my hubby that I married in '98 is THE BEST for me. He keeps me on my toes, and vice versa. He loves to travel and scuba dive, has a motorcycle -- lives life on the edge, but is also very responsible, has an amazing job, etc. We were made for each other. :) I knew when I first saw him that he was the one for me. (That was 15 yrs. ago) I feel bad for M. because I know he only married the woman he was living with because they had been together for 15 yrs. He confided to me that he didn't marry her out of love, but more out of obligation. :( He always thought he would be with some beautiful Italian women and have 3 daughters. Now he has no children, and won't ever have any. I feel sad for him at times.

However I am very thankful that my life has taken the twists that is did...I've had a wonderful life with hubby #2.

6. It's pretty great to be married to someone you love

who loves you back and treats you right. It took me four times to get it right ... I should have stuck with my first choice to begin with, but we were so young and parental pressure (on my side) convinced me that I needed more "experience" before settling down. I don't regret my life, but I often wonder how things would have been different for me if I had stayed true to my heart in '63. I guess everything happens the way it's supposed to. Maybe I wouldn't have appreciated HullBoss so much if I didn't have the opposites to compare him to. :)

And I have two wonderful daughters from my first marriage, they are the best kids ever. I certainly don't regret having them or being married to their dad, just he and I moved at different speeds. The tortoise and the hare syndrome. Now it's a hare & hare competition!! Outta my way!
