I think this approach allows us to share our work freely, but retain the rights which are important to us. The "NonCommercial" covers most of it, for me, since I don't care if everyone on the planet has their own copy, but I'd be mightily pissed if Microsoft or CalendersRUs or some other money-grubbing golem tried to make a dime off of my work without my permission.

1. I use that on my site.
All I ask for people using my photos is that they give me credit and a link back to my site would be nice too. I usually post fairly low resolution copies so the ones they can get off my site aren't good for much other than the web.

4. Lucy the gentle pit bull
practicing "Throw The Stick!" telepathic control over her owner. I get proud step-status, but there is no question about the dog's first loyalty. Street urchin, pedigree unknown, ID'd by vet as an American Staffordshire Terrier, will not fight when attacked, but will defend the weak, like her human(s?). The most intelligent and compassionate animal I have ever encountered. My SO and I tease each other about our greater affection for the dog, and the dog will command inclusion in any hugs. Don't get me started --->

3. This is my guide, as well.
If someone steals one of my photos and starts making billions on it (haha), I have the original, whether digital or film. My rights are retained no matter what. Might as well share.
