Rhododendron (etc.) Quest 2008 - Part II (EXTREME DIAL-UP WARNING)
Edited on Sat May-17-08 04:29 PM by regnaD kciN
Continuing the tour of Seattle public gardens, the Weyerhaeuser headquarters in Federal Way is home to the Rhododendron Species Foundation and Botanical Garden, one of the most prominent rhododendron collections in the world. (It's nice to see the "king of the clear-cuts" actually donating resources for something positive for the environment for once!)

Anyway, these gardens offer a lot to photograph (and not just rhododendrons). This was my first visit with a camera; it won't be my last.

1. Gorgeous. Just glorious. My favorite is the close-up of the birch bark.
Cordially,

2. Ya gotta love Washington State and the rhododendrons.
These are really, really beautiful. I love the fifth one -- it looks like it would glow in the dark.

3. That was the hardest one to get...
...because a slight breeze came up at that moment, and kept moving the flower during the exposure. I must have taken about six photos of that composition before finally getting one that wasn't blurred.

4. Fabulous stuff
I like the second one, the ferns (or bracken) and the closeup of the bark.
