I'm feeling like I can't take bad photos this week...

...and it's got nothing to do with skill. :)

It's insanely beautiful out here in the mountains, I shot some wildflowers and rocks and some kind of growing fungus and the sky and all kinds of stuff, and I'm loving it all.

Seriously. Anyone ever been in a place and time when everything goes right for photos? I think even a bigger dingbat than me couldn't go wrong up here this week. :)

On edit: Here's that fungus stuff:

4. Oddly enough, kinda.
I live about five minutes drive and a half-hour walk from the spot I took the photo... but nearby there's a wreck I'm looking for. Although it's at 11K feet, so I'm waiting for more summer to take place and warm it all up a bit. :)

5. That wouldn't be an A-10 crash site, now would it?
Quite a mystery, that one.

6. Hijacking my own thread!
No, that site's been pretty picked over, plus it's awful grim.

Actually, one of these that went down in 1969:

9. 11K
I don't blame you for putting off the trip until later in the season. I was in the mountains a few days ago and it was snowing. x(

Your photo is beautiful, btw. The only thing that could make it better is if the aspen had its autumn leaves, but you obviously had no control over that.

2. Pretty cool
Reminds me of kennedy meadows up the Sierra Nevada's. I hope to be there this summer and will get some shots (have a bunch just not scanned in).

Got more to share?!

3. Photography in Alaska is like that every day...
It's really hard to go wrong. Beautiful shot, by the way. I'm likin' the lichen.

7. You're right.
The lichen makes that picture the 3D-ariffic joy that it is.
