Better than Prozac!
I stumbled across this site and have fallen in love! It is better than Prozac! I enjoy coming here and looking at all the beautiful and realistic pictures and it makes me forget my troubles. When I was younger and had more time, I loved taking my camera, going out and taking photographs of scenic places, interesting vignettes, friends, family, etc. Now I make dolls for a living so I am pretty much either making a doll or taking pictures of a doll. The difference between a doll selling or not is realism. My photographs have to show them in natural poses for children so that they achieve the ultimate realism in their looks. This is one that I did recently of a large doll that I made. She later sold on ebay for $360.00 so I was pretty happy. I have done several custom orders of her also. So that's my story. I don't have much time anymore to do the "fun" pictures out but I do so enjoy everyone else's here.

1. Welcome to the Photography Forum, DollyM. I am the official greeter this morning.
I looked at your photo and that pretty child weirded me out. And now that I know it is not a child from another world but a doll I am majorly impressed with your abilities and your craft(s), and I can feel better because my instincts still work.

I am clueless what all you would have to understand and co-ordinate and pull together to create this doll.
I have seen this type of depiction in an exhibit in a museum but forgot the artist. I kept circling the creations and study how it was possible to make them so life like.

You might know about these, if you do, remind me of the artist's name, I know it was a man. He specifically did a woman, lying on an elevated pedestal, and you think it's a person lying there asleep.

I'm glad you are here, join in, talk to us, and show more of your works of art. That is what they are, and you are not getting enough money for them.

2. wow, that looks like
some of the pictures you see of kids from, well, I don't want to start any regional wars here, so I won't say.

Great work.

3. well now you have my curiosity up . . .
what region is she supposed to look like she is from? She is wearing a Girl Scout outfit so she is supposed to look like about a five to seven year old child, which is Daisy to Brownie Scout age. She really doesn't have a region, just a little girl. I am from southern Illinois, does she look like she is from the midwest?
