Some California flowers.
Westwood really has some gardening fiends.

4. Thank you, dear.
I've been too busy to post much and while I was in LA with my parents, had no access to new shots. Now back in NY, I thought I'd share.
I'm getting a new Xsi on Tuesday, with two lenses, if my bargaining with B&H works out.

3. California flowers
Thanks so much for these. I still remember being awestruck at some botanical gardens near Mendocino. I sort of forced my husband to go, and he ended up being happy he went there. I'm not even a flower fanatic or anything. I just have never seen such a variety of species, all in full glory at the time.

Although I'm a bit jealous of California flowers, at the moment we have some ten foot tall azaleas in full bloom in our yard. Unfortunately the best angle at the moment includes bags of yard trash on the curb. Guess I need to do some closeups (but they don't show off the height!).

5. In NY, we have only forsythia...
crocuses and bulbs (daffodils, tulips, etc.) so far. Some of the roses I saw in LA were huge; nearly the size of my head.

6. I'd say that iris looks edible, but then again
George Carlin warned us about the blue food.

Thanks for sharing the bounty.

7. Blue food was one of Carlin's best bits.
I laughed my ass off the first time I heard it.
