In its heyday RJR had a lot of money. They copied the Empire State building and called it the RJR building. Inside it is filled with Art Deco to die for.
It used to be the tallest building in town, the others I'm showing are now the tallest. The former Wachovia Bank Bldg., now sold and renamed the penis bldg. is our tallest at 33 stories.

1. I can't imagine why it's called the penis building

Do people even consider the repercussions of that kind of building design?

I like the photos, although the first does look like King Kong stepped on the building and pushed it into the ground.

2. We have one like the companion building with the Penis building. It is
blue with blue neon lights at the top. My buddy calls it the "Octo Cock."
