couple of cute chicks..
Don't know what kind of bird this is...a female cardinal I think. She was out for her early morning drink and bath.

This lovely lady wrapped in her snow white feathers.

1. Great shots!
The bird watcher here is stumped. He says it's definitely not a cardinal as they don't come in yellow. Females are brown with touches of red. Same kind of beak and all. But he's not sure what it is. He'll be looking it up, I'll bet. LOL

:hi:

2. here's a pic of the back. it was first morning light, so maybe the
gold color comes from the sunlight? I do remember it being yellowish, though.

3. Still not a cardinal...
but we are both thinking that it may be someone's domesticated bird that got loose.

4. Definitely not a Cardinal
My thought too about its origin. Looks like something normally found in a cage.

6. My vote is for female cardinal in a beautiful
glowing golden light. Love the photos though since my cardinals scatter if they even think I am thinking of grabbing my camera.

7. no kidding, they do that with me too!
And getting a reflection of a cardinal in the water is doubly good.

8. This is a female cardinal.
The females are yellow-orange brownish in color. At least the females in my yard are.

9. Ours all look like this.

I'm thinking since the OP is in Texas and we're in Oklahoma, there wouldn't be a whole lot of difference in the birds we see.

5. personally, I vote for
female cardinal.

Here is a pic of one I got off the 'net. There is a yellowish tone in this one.

Nice pics!
