Which crop do you like the best?

1. Second one
In the first, I find the two globules of water in front of her at the bottom of the image distracting.

3. In some ways it is distracting, in some ways it frames her.

2. WOW - tough one for me - BUT
I like the first one better, because I really like the shape of that water on her arm in a non-abbreviated form.

I agree though with the other comment about the two "globules" of water.

So here is my take: If you can crop it in the middle of the two crops, and get rid of the two offenders and add more to the shape on the arm, that's what I'd like.

What I'd like the most, is to take those two doo-hickies off in photo shop.
But I don't know how, and I don't know where Trusty Elf is hiding.

(If I did not really like the photo a lot, I would not go to such lengths but I really like it a lot, for some reason the finished shape on the arm makes ALL the water sparkle more)

4. I had already moved this image to backup, then found it
while looking for something appropriate for the contest.

If I move the image up to crop out the two globules, then it appears there's a fountain coming out of her head. I didn't want to crop off the top of her head either.

5. Of the two, I prefer the first one.

The second is cropped too close to the arm in my opinion. Mira has the right idea in that a crop between the two would work well.

The extra water at the bottom of the first seems OK. As you point out, it helps with the framing.

7. I came and looked again
(hosting the contest means I hang around more than usual, even)

The most desirable would be to me, on reflection, if the arc in the bottom of number 1 would be filled in to connect up to the "two blobs" of water.
Then the framing would be complete.
I don't advocate photo shop as a rule, but in this case, I'm all for it.

9. Cropping this image entailed making compromises.
To get one thing, I have to sacrifice something else. When it comes down to it, the face is the place. I only wanted elements that supported the face. I couldn't zoom in closer because of the limits to resolution.

Dark skin in front of light backgrounds presents some great challenges.
