1. Added an experiment.
On this image I added a chartreuse layer then adjusted the opacity to near zero.

4. Here I like the transparency of the leaves a lot, they are luminous.
The stamen (or what ever it is called) looks too light to me. But the leaves make up for it they are awesome.

6. Thanks. I wanted the flower to look like it was lit from within.
The stamen were the source of light and the petals were reflecting
