Showing it in color was like "turning on the light"
I was on a quest of shooting same views first in b/w and then in color.
The subject matter was fascinating but full of "junky" views and did not, I learned, lend itself to b/w because it was too loaded down with images.

I'm showing these just to entertain you, it was a fun excursion, and I did get a bit more familiar with what does and does not work.

WJMS= you know, I would bet, that this is at "The Screen Door" in Asheville

1. The color works so much better in these
especially the second, third & last IMO.

2. What a neat experiment.
But truth be told, I like photos 2, 3 and 6 in the b/c version better. But that's just me. :-)

3. Not sure how hard it is to do this
It might be fun to experiment with making some of these part color and part black and white. I, too, like a couple of these better in black and white. But what I might try (if I could do it without much trouble) would be something like making the last one black and white, but the boots color.

I can tell you had fun with this experiment. Did you buy anything?

4. It was probably the first time ever
in that antique and trinket mall that I did not buy anything. A number of the famed "things in my yard" are from there. I was pre-occupied with shooting photos, and my focus was switched from looking at items to looking at the bigger picture.

It's a simple and easy thing to do to "spot color" with a Picasa slider or two.
And it's a good idea, they may well lend themselves to it. The difficulty is the delineation and the control of the bleed between color and no color.
To do a perfect job it would have to be done in photoshop.

Thanks for looking at them, and for your comments, and for being there, Celebration!

5. Love the colors in the second one. It could work in b&w,
but the colors are too good to leave out.
