Asheville is all snowed in. It's going on 8 inches of snow by now, and is about to break a 40 year record for snow at Christmas time.

I borrowed my son's huge boots and went for a walk in the wintry beauty, and I hope that for all of you it was a good and memorable holiday.

2. Amazing photos.
All three are great; I like the first one the most.

3. Thank you both. But I'm responding to Tabatha
because you are still the woman of the hour with your win in the contest. I also am so glad you are "here" and hanging out and getting to know us.

Thanks for liking my photos. I thought the first one was luminous. But I am sometimes so wrong about my own stuff.

4. Why I liked the first one is
because detailed shots like that are not easy. But everywhere I look in the photo there is snow detail - it is very rich feast of intricacy. I think it would have been great in the "white" contest.

5. Tasty!
Cold here but nowhere near as wintry-looking as that. Great shots!
